Dell Inspiron 1525

Is this everything the original Inspiron 1520 should have been? Andy certainly thinks so.

Overall, the Inspiron 1525 is a wonderfully balanced entry level system, offering something for almost everyone - the only exception being gamers. Superb battery life and decent display options are married to a great selection of features, making this...

Dell Inspiron 1525 notebook

There was a time that if you wanted to buy a Dell notebook you'd have to order it online and wait for it to be delivered. Thankfully, those days of waiting are over as in recent months Dell has changed its business model to incorporate in-store sales....

Great build, good specification, fantastic to use

Integrated graphics

At one time, Dell was the market leader in terms of notebook design and innovation. However, in recent times this simply hasn’t been the case but with the Inspiron 1525 we feel the company is finally back on track. This notebook offers a great machine...

Dell Inspiron 1525 review

The Inspiron 1525, apart from the coloured, rubberised finish on the lid, is a rather plain 15.4in laptop, with a matt silver finish and rounded edges.

Dell Inspiron 1525

For notebook consumers wanting a low-cost option with plenty of features, things have rarely been better. We've recently reviewed the $899 Acer[[pro...

Good value for money, stylish, a good variety of connectivity options, HDMI port

Networking options aren't the latest or fastest, the screen is reflective and feels fragile

Despite lacking the latest and fastest networking options, the Dell Inspiron 1525's chic design and HDMI output make this a good choice for the home user.

Dell Inspiron 1525-139B review: Dell Inspiron 1525-139B

Dell Inspiron 1525-139B

Includes HDMI output and touch-sensitive media control buttons.

Intel Pentium Dual-Core, rather than a Core 2 Duo CPU; unimpressive battery life.

The Dell Inspiron 1525-139B is a classic midsize, mainstream laptop, but this specific retail-only configuration has a wimpier battery than its predecessor.

Dell Inspiron 1525 review: Dell Inspiron 1525

Dell Inspiron 1525

Slimmer than Dell's 14-inch Inspiron; includes HDMI and touch-sensitive media control buttons; a bit cheaper than other 1525 configurations and has better battery life.

Slightly slower than other versions of the 1525 we've looked at; smaller hard drive.

The Dell Inspiron 1525-121B is the textbook example of a midsize, mainstream laptop. Switching to slower CPU knocks a little off the performance, but also takes $80 off the price and adds battery life, compared with Dell's more mainstream configurations.

Dell Inspiron 1525 review

Editors' note: August 8, 2008. We incorrectly identified the CPU as a Core 2 Duo T2390 for this laptop. It uses the older Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2390, which features 1MB of L2 cache and operates on a 533MHz frontside bus. Most Core 2 Duo...
