Dell Inspiron 17 review

This sturdy desktop replacement provides plenty of power and a 17.3in screen at a very low price

If you're after a home laptop with a large screen and don't plan on taking it around with you, the Dell Inspiron 17 is a good buy for £450. It's fairly fast, can play some modern games and even has surprisingly good battery life, lasting seven hours...

Dell Inspiron 17 7778 Convertible Review

Gigantic convertible. A 17-inch convertible? Why not? Anyone preferring the stationary use of Windows 10 in tablet mode should be absolutely happy with this somewhat unusual combination. However, the Inspiron also does a good job as a conventional...

different modes possible (tablet, stand, etc.) ; nice surfaces ; solid, very well-built casing ; few yet well positioned interfaces ; very good keyboard ; bright, high-contrast panel ; GDDR5 version of the 940MX ; quiet ; very long battery life

keyboard down in tablet mode ; not ideal hinges ; weak card reader performance ; no maintenance hatch ; spongy keyboard ; touchscreen's gliding traits not always ideal ; very limited outdoor use ; GPU throttles clearly during permanent load

Dell's new Inspiron 17 7778 2-in-1 is undoubtedly a somewhat exotic convertible, whose mobility aspects will not be as important as in smaller convertibles purely due to its size and weight. But that is not a drawback since the additional modes typical...

Dell Inspiron 17 7773 review – a successor to the Inspiron 17 7779 with a brand new hardware… and price

After the Inspiron 17 7779 review, we still can't think of a reason why would anyone opt for a 17-inch convertible but obviously there's a market for that as well. Probably the combinat…

Good build quality;Good input devices;High-quality IPS display – wide sRGB coverage, high contrast, bright;Long battery life

Limited I/O for a 17-inch device; Not the most practical 2-in-1 – hefty and big chassis, wobbly screen;Pricey; The screen uses aggressive PWM from 0 to 99% (our Health-Guard profile fixes that)

Dell Inspiron 17 5767 review – affordable mobile substitute for your desktop

Recently we saw the advent of yet another Inspiron laptop by Dell – Inspiron 17 5767. We have reviewed its smaller 5567 brother already (read here) which strongly resembles the machine subjec…

Good build quality;Large screen size;Lack of PWM;High-end processor;Matte display;High sRGB coverage – 85%

Rather heavy;Small battery capacity; The lid gets dirty easily

It's beyond what I expected! I'm blown away by the speed and the fact that it has a touch screen and I didn't even realize it. Lol.

Very disappointing

This is my 3rd Dell laptop, so would have thought that purchasing another laptop from Dell was a fairly safe option. However I am extremely unimpressed with the laptop. It has difficulty shutting down, updating and is extremely slow. Also, the touch...

I love it!

This laptop is cheap for having such a huge HD display. I love using it.

very happy

Using as desktop replacement and am very happy with performance and mobility. Seems to handle multiple windows and process without taxing system at all. Display is crisp and is a great size for movies and displaying side by side windows/web pages.
