Dell Inspiron 6400 Core 2 Duo laptop

With the advent of Intel's Core 2 Duo processors we're at last beginning to see the kind of power and portability that was being claimed, somewhat optimistically, back in the early days of notebook computing.

With a base price - for the T7200 Core 2 Duo - of £789 inc. VAT and shipping, the Inspiron 6400 is an excellent and affordable route into the Core 2 Duo world. It has all the credentials to be a dependable multimedia companion with its great screen,...

Dell Inspiron 6400 : Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop

If the idea of a desktop replacement machine that truly has five hours of battery life watching DVD's interests you then this could well be for you. Yes 3 DVD's in a row.

While watching three DVD's in a row may not be what everyone wants - or needs - running a DVD tends to put a fair amount of stress on a laptop battery and often it's a struggle to get one DVD watched but I managed to watch three on this laptop one...

Dell Inspiron 6400

The Dell Inspiron 6400 is a well built, reliable machine that comes equipped with a 2GHz T2500 Core processor and a 16:10 widescreen display with a 1,680 x 1,050 resolution.

A great 16:9 widescreen display

A small 80GB hard drive not ideal for everyone

Comes with Windows Vista Home Premium operating system. Simple but effective from Dell.

Dell Inspiron 6400 Review (pics, specs)

The Dell Inspiron 6400 (also sold as the Inspiron e1505 via Dell Home) is a laptop that meets you in the middle'. It's pretty light and portable (like the Inspiron e1405) and offers high performance and great media options (like the Inspiron e1705)....

Dell Inspiron 6400

The Inspiron 6400 is a mid-range notebook with an entry-level price tag. It'll handle most applications nicely, but it's a little on the heavy side and isn't suitable for extensive gaming.

Affordable. Impressive general performance. Great battery life for a desktop replacement. Bright, high-resolution screen. Instant-on DVD payback feature. 5-in-1 card reader.

Hefty weight and dimensions. Poor gaming performance. Some minor design quirks.

The Inspiron 6400 is a mid-range notebook with an entry-level price tag. It’ll handle most applications nicely, but it’s a little on the heavy side and isn’t suitable for extensive gaming.

Dell Inspiron 6400 Multimedia Notebook (Centrino Duo)

The new Core 2 Duo based Dell Inspiron 6400 is a faithful workhorse that balances performance and battery life. Its other features though, are more down to earth and even a little uninspiring, including a chassis design that has been around for an...

Dell Inspiron 6400

The Inspiron 6400 is a desktop replacement notebook, offering up the familiar silver and white-accented design that's common to the Inspiron line. It's not exactly a stunner, but you certainly won't be ashamed to tote it around whilst in the public eye.
