Dell Inspiron M501R-1748MRB

The Dell Inspiron M501R-1748MRB is an affordable desktop replacement laptop featuring a Blu-ray drive and a nice display but its performance is sluggish at best.

Blu-ray drive. Big hard drive. Nice display.

Integrated graphics. Sluggish performance. Relatively short battery life.

Dell Inspiron iM501R-1655MRB

Compared with other similarly-priced laptops, which have better speeds and battery scores, the Dell Inspiron iM501R-1655MRB is no Easter egg.

Well thought-out design. Excellent keyboard. Soft mouse buttons. Large 500GB hard drive. HDMI and eSATA

Overpriced compared to its peers. Paltry battery scores. Bottom of the barrel performance scores.

Dell Inspiron iM501R-1212PBL review: Dell Inspiron iM501R-1212PBL

Dell Inspiron iM501R-1212PBL

Good looks; above-average audio output; multitouch touch pad; HDMI and eSATA ports.

Squeaky space bar on the keyboard; poor battery life; performance lags behind similarly priced Intel-based laptops.

We'd like the attractive and affordable Dell Inspiron iM501R-1212PBL more if it wasn't so slow and squeaky.

Dell Inspiron iM501R-13230BK

The Dell Inspiron iM501R-13230BK is a budget-minded mainstream laptop that offers more than just the essential features, but its performance is decidedly back of the pack for it class.

Inexpensive. Great-sounding audio. eSATA port. No pre-installed bloatware.

Poor performance. Heavy.
