Review Dell Latitude E5540 Notebook

Moonlighter. The new generation of Dell's office workhorse, the Latitude E5540, is clad in a black, 15.6-inch suit and with a power-efficient Intel Core i5 processor. Is it a must for the office?

Long battery runtime, High application performance, Bright Full HD screen, Backlit keyboard, Trackpoint, All vital security features, Many services available, Decent speakers, Many special keys, Elegant, restrained design, Quiet and relatively cool,...

Casing can be warped, Keyboard yields, Screen's intense bluish cast, Imperfect viewing angles, High idle power consumption, Only two USB 3.0 ports, Only one headset jack, A more stable casing would be needed to increase the quality impression and to...

Dell Latitude E5540: a well-specified corporate laptop [Review]

In all the furor over super-slim Ultrabooks and magically transforming hybrids, it's sometimes easy to forget that some people just need a basic portable. The Dell Latitude E5540 is aimed at those people. It's not a fundamentally exciting notebook by...

Bit on the heavy side.

The SSD and the I5 makes this a very fast laptop, sadly I had to experience this through a secondary monitor since the Back-light was burnt out

This Laptop comes with windows 8 not windows 7 Pro. There is no secondary disk in the box to switch operating systems either

good customer service

This computer has a solid-state hybrid drive, I am not an expert but I believe it is a little misleading to put it as SSD. Those are not really solid state, as far as I know. (I hope newegg will correct this comment, or the info on the website)

Good technical support

This is my second review on this computer. I increased the rating by one star just because of the customer service I received from dell for the past 2 days. The send me software to solve the problems i was having with the touchpad, and when it did not...

The computer came with a windows 7, and a windows 8 dvd in the box. It was working fine at first. The first thing I did was to do the windows updates, and during the process, touchpad disappeared. (No mouse cursor at all when external mouse...
