The clean-slate design and trialware-free desktop are immediate pleasures that are soon accompanied by solid performance and some surprising media centre-style capabilities.

No trialware, Dell Support application, speakers, Dell MediaDirect, excellent battery life

Viewing angle on screen, no Dell Chat support currently (according to the Dell Web site)

Review Dell Vostro 1400 Notebook

Vostro mobile edition. The small brother of the Vostro 1500 tries ...

Simple and discreet design ; Very robust and stable aluminum chassis ; Comfortable handling ; Dim surface display with good brightness capable of outdoor usage ; Higher resolution display available (WXGA+) ; Low noise level ; Long battery life even...

The color and viewing angle of the WXGA display failes to impress ; No HDMI and docking port

Although the battery life of the standard six cell battery is long enough, the nine cell battery is recommended for mobile users

Dell Vostro 1400 Review

Ever since selling my XPS M140, I have been keeping my eyes open for another notebook deal.  For a while, I was seriously considering the Asus W3j, but I just couldn't justify the high price.  Instead, I bought a desktop to hold me over

Excellent Price ; Impressive build quality ; Optional Webcam and dedicated Graphics ; Great battery life, especially with the 9 cell battery ; Great looking screen, bright and crisp

Battery didn’t snap in as tight as it should ; Notebook lid easily smudges and shows your fingerprints ; Dell’s always hard to get a hold of

The day after I purchased the notebook, the price dropped by $50!  So Immediately I went to the Dell small business site, and tried to chat with someone from Dell small business.  I was connected with a guy from Dell home, who was unable to help me...

Dell Vostro 1400 Review

The Dell Vostro 1400 is a 14.1″ widescreen offering in the Dell Small Business lineup of laptops. The Vostro 1400 is very affordable, but at the same time a very good quality notebook. You don't pay much, but you get a lot with this plain looking but...
