Dell Inspiron XPS M1710

Every so often a piece of kit comes along that just blows you away. We've seen Dell's Inspiron XPS laptops before and they've been impressive. The latest, the M1710, really is something else.

The Inspiron M1710 is a cracking laptop with top-notch components, although the design might not suit everyone. It's faster than anything we've seen, so if you want a desktop replacement with serious power, look no further. However, you'll have to have...

Dell - XPS M1710

monstrous gaming laptop with 17-inch screen and Blu-Ray

Dell has upped the ante on gaming notebook performance with the XPS M1710. Yes it's expensive, but you get an awful lot of laptop for your money, a machine that can hold its own with a great number of desktop PCs out there.

The M1710 (Blu-ray), the best gaming laptop, adds a Blu-ray drive to its arsenal.

Blazing gaming performance. Blu-ray playback is picture-perfect. Users can overclock the processor all the way up to 3.16 GHz. Terrific 1080p resolution.

MCE remote that doesn't come standard.

Dell XPS M1710 (GeForce Go 7950 GTX review: Dell XPS M1710 (GeForce Go 7950 GTX

Latest and greatest laptop GPU; built-in strobe lights play along with music and games; unbeatable mobile gaming scores; can play media files without booting up.

Similarly configured laptops are faster on some tests; some special features hidden in hard-to-find menus; expensive.

Dell's latest update to the XPS M1710 doesn't make it any cheaper but allows it to maintain its position as the leader of the mobile gaming pack.
