Big, brash and powerful – a beast of a gaming laptop at a very reasonable price

The MSI GE27 2QD Apache Pro may not be the best gaming laptop when it comes to raw power. The textured touchpad may be horrid, and the display distinctly average, but like me you’ll probably find once you start playing you’ll forget all that.

MSI GE72 6QD Apache Pro

The MSI GE72 6QD Apache Pro provides respectable midrange gaming performance without breaking the bank, but there are better values out there if you're not going for a high-end system.

Affordable. Good performance for the price. Solid build. Plenty of storage and ports.

GeForce GTX 960M graphics card isn't powerful enough for gaming at the highest settings. Brushed plastic touchpad feels strange.

Conclusion The MSI GE72 6QD Apache Pro is a pretty good gaming laptop overall, providing capable performance on a large screen at a reasonable price. It's not a powerhouse like more expensive laptops, but you know you're not buying a top-of-the-line...

Nvidia GeForce GTX 965M 2016 Refresh (N16E-GR) Review

Nvidia listened to what customers want and published a faster GTX 965M based on the smaller GM206 chip. Although the number of shaders remained the same, the clock rates and the performance increased.

In our opinion, the new GeForce GTX 965M could have definitely been called GTX 965M Ti as had been originally envisaged. The higher clock rates unambiguously prove to have an impact in our tests and would have justified giving it a special name....

MSI GE72 7RE Apache Pro – Review

Gaming laptops used to be ruinously expensive, offering less power for more cash, but the emerge of Nvidia Pascal and Intel's Kaby Lake have continued pushing the envelope in the opposite direction.

This machine doesn’t have many bells and whistles, but MSI has got the important stuff right – and that makes it a compelling and affordable gaming machine.
