HP 250 G5 review

Standing a clear head-and-shoulders above most of the competition for performance, this may not be the best-looking laptop, but it's the one you'd be happiest to use day to day. Here's our HP 250 G4 review.

HP 250 G5 SP X0N33EA Notebook Review

Generation change. Higher processing performance, finally a Full HD display and a faster storage device turn HP's new notebook into a true office all-rounder. Despite these new features, the laptop has also inherited disadvantageous properties.

matte display ; system performance ; Full HD display ; temperature

bluish display ; fan is always on ; fan noise ; difficult maintenance ; no dual-channel RAM out-of-the-box

HP presents a low-budget all-rounder for everyday office tasks, for the university, or as an entry-level business notebook. Thanks to many possible configurations, you can find a suitable product almost regardless of your budget. What can customers...

HP 250 G5 Y1V08UT (Celeron N3060, HD) Notebook Review

Cheap and slow. The 6 W Celeron CPU makes for a subpar Windows 10 experience even when equipped with a primary SSD. Quiet operation and long battery life are the main benefits for such a low-power configuration.

no CPU throttling; low running temperatures ; long runtimes; low power consumption ; removable Li-Ion battery pack ; upgradeable HDD and RAM ; HDMI and VGA ; inexpensive ; silent

keyboard keys clatter; no keyboard backlight ; narrow gamut and viewing angles ; slow system performance ; lid susceptible to flexing ; cheap plastic texture ; dim display backlight ; difficult serviceability ; no USB Type-C

Older mainstream notebooks commonly pair able processors with slow HDDs that would often bottleneck system performance. Our configured Celeron N3060 HP SKU is the same and opposite story as it pairs a very weak processor with a fast SSD. The end result...

Nothing

The performance is outrageously slow and there is no support to get the issue addressed.

Excellent battery life of a few hours, and still holding up after a two months use. I can surf the web and play HD content using the BBC iPlayer Download app at the same time. Screen is clear and easy to read. Keyboard is acceptable. For the price I...

Not the most stylish bit of kit but for the price it's fine.

HP 250 G5 (i5-7200U)

Light Weight

The left and right hand click buttons are so hard to push that it makes my wifes wrists hurt and is no longer able to use the laptop. Wish I had never bought it.

Value for money. Performant. Classic design.
