The laptop has a great design with a brushed metal look and feel. Power, network and mute buttons are tactile, LED and in great locations, the performance is fantastic. Coming with Ubuntu was a great choice, for the same price as the Windows version of...

The Harddrive is 5400RPM, it's a little slow, but then again most laptops are 5400RPM (aside from laptops with SSDs) The battery life is okay. It lasts me about 3-4 hours depending on what I am doing. When opening the laptop sometimes you can see on...

Lots of memory, which can be increased if needed. Lovely design and lightweight. Great value for money. Very pleased.

Could not get on with Ubuntu, installed Windows and very pleased. Did have wifi trouble but one of the Windows updates included a Realtek update and that fixed it. Would not recommend using the bullguard security that came free in the box.

Bought this so that I could look at Ubuntu as an alternative to Microsoft without spending too much money. I've found Ubuntu straight forward-busy reading up!

Had trouble with the wireless connection. Used Ethernet cable and upgraded software. Now completely fine.

Built in wifi is dodgy as others have mentioned, seemed to work initially for me then became a nightmare, connecting then dropping immediately. Tried several fixes like disabling IPv6 with no joy. Tried a cheap usb wifi adapter but then the two seemed...

Plenty of memory and 1TB Hard drive.

OEM version of Ubuntu is 4 years old and only supported for another year. Although reasonably easy to upgrade HP do not support more recent version so built in disaster recovery will revert to outdated original operating system.
