HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 review

Laptops with touch screens aren't new territory for HP. Windows 8 and its touch-friendly interface, however, gives consumers more of a reason to have one, even on traditional laptop designs like the HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 (4t-1100 series to be...

HP's Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 is an attractive ultrabook with a respectable mix of components for its price, a responsive touch screen, and a backlit keyboard.

The Envy TouchSmart 4 isn't very configurable, so you can't make it too much more powerful than it already is. It's on the heavy side for an "ultrabook" (if you consider 4.5 pounds heavy). Its touch pad is jumpy at default settings.

The HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 is a good gateway to the Windows 8 experience with a responsive touch screen in a traditional laptop body.

HP Envy TouchSmart 4 ultrabook review - Liliputing

The HP Envy TouchSmart 4 is Hewlett Packard's first ultrabook with a touchscreen display. It ships with Windows 8, features an Intel Ivy Bridge processor, and measures less than an inch thick.

At 4.5 pounds, the HP Envy TouchSmart 4 isn’t the most portable ultrabook on the market. In fact, I’m not sure why Intel insists on grouping notebooks with 14 and 15.6 inch screens into the ultrabook category in the first place, but that’s Intel’s...
