HP ProBook 4510s review

HP ProBook 4510s proves to be a good laptop with a range of specifications and features to suit everyone

Great usability ; Good value

Shiny case

It's not mind-blowing, but a solid laptop for a good price is no mean feat

HP ProBook 4510s review

An interesting design and reasonable performance, but considering the low specification it's simply too expensive.

There's nothing particularly wrong with HP's ProBook 4510s, aside from its price. For this much money we'd expect more memory and a larger hard disk. Asus's cheaper K50IJ has better specifications and is a better choice.

HP ProBook 4510s

Tight-budget businesses will love the HP ProBook 4510s's battery life and price, but will have to get used to wiping away the smudges and fingerprints frequently.

Excellent for businesses on a tight budget. Remarkable battery life with either the six- or eight-cell battery. Wide, bright screen. Stylish keyboard. Numeric keypad included. Security software for businesses with no IT staff. 3G modems are available....

Picks up smudges outside and in. Frame seems hollow when you tap on it.

HP ProBook 4510s Notebook PC (VA033PA)

This HP business notebook is inexpensive yet performs well and is solidly built

Good value, well built, good performance, good battery life, stylish, light for a 15.6in notebook

Slow hard drive, annoying touchpad buttons, no full-sized ExpressCard/54 slot

Review HP ProBook 4510s Notebook

CrisesBook. Not only are saturated profits in the wallet gone for

Acceptable port facilities; Gigabit LAN and Bluetooth ex works; HSPA broadband internet optionally available; Generous keyboard with separate numberpad; QuickLook function; Very bright display, matte variant available; Reasonable battery life of 3-4 hours

Case is very susceptible to dirt; A basic warranty of only a year, an upgrade incurs an additional charge; Keyboard is difficult to clean; Low viewing angle stability of the glare display; Fan is clearly audible even without a load

Almost all well-known manufacturers already have a range of low-price business models on offer. For example the Vostro series from Dell, the Thinkpad SL models from Lenovo or even the Extensa series from Acer.

HP ProBook 4510s Review

The price is reasonable and HP includes reliability extras - hard-disk impact protection, disk encryption - that not all laptop makers offer. As for functionality, the 4510s does the job for all but the most media-intensive tasks.
