Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx review

Lenovo's Atom-based Windows 8 tablet-laptop hybrid is lightweight and usable, but build quality doesn't cut it. Here's our Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx review.

IdeaTab Lynx is Lenovo's second-best Atom tablet

The Lynx costs more than some Windows 8 tablets, and does less than others.

The ; is well-balanced when plugged into its keyboard base, and offers good battery life, and a bigger-screen alternative to Lenovo's other Atom tablet.

The keyboard has too much flex, and the docking hinge sticks. For only a little more, better products are available.

The IdeaTab Lynx is a perfectly functional Windows 8 hybrid but lacks the lower price of some competitors, or better design and features of others.

Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx review: An Atom hybrid that blends into the background

Comparing the roughly half-dozen Intel Atom Windows 8 tablets that we've seen to date is relatively easy. Nearly all of them, from the HP Envy X2 to the Dell Latitude 10, are built around essentially identical hardware platforms, starting with an Intel...

Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx Windows 8 Tablet Review

Final ThoughtsWhen it comes down to it the IdeaTab Lynx is a great Windows 8 tablet that any user is going to enjoy. I think the most compelling thing about the Lynx is the price. At $499 you are getting a great tablet that is going to run full Windows...

Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx

Thin and light, long battery life, optional keyboard dock doubles battery life

Not a gorgeous design, keyboard dock could have more ports

The Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx offers all the things we like about Intel Atom Windows 8 tablets: long battery life, silent operation, long standby and a thin and light design. But its looks detract from an otherwise solid experience, and I fear that it may...

Consumer review (cnet.com)

"A half-baked idea from Microsoft and Lenovo."

The bonehead charging/USB design from Microsoft and Lenovo overrides anything good about the tablet.

Full Windows 8.

Tablet has a single microUSB port that doubles as a charging port. You cannot charge while connected to a USB device or connect to a USB device while charging unless you are connected to the optional keyboard-dock, which has been discontinued!

"Super tablet but the dock needs improvement."

GREAT PRICE ($349 for both tablet and keyboard dock), GREAT battery (with keyboard, 16 hours),and 2 USB 2.0 ports. ultra-thin too!

The keyboard takes a bit of time getting used to and the touchpad is bit to small. Does not come preloaded with office 2013 like some other tablets. Also it is a bit tricky to detach the tablet from the keyboard dock.
