Lenovo Ideapad Y700 review

Long battery life tops off this attractive gaming laptop

Looks great ; Ample battery life ; Honest-to-God Ethernet port

Gets hot ; Terrible trackpad buttons ; Heavy

This 15-inch gaming laptop looks nice and its price tag is even nicer, just don't expect to run games on Ultra settings.

Lenovo Ideapad 700 (15-inch) review

  (Rating Hidden)

Lenovo's mission statement for the 15-inch Ideapad 700 is clear and concise: to be a 'stylish, lightweight multimedia powerhouse' of a laptop. It may have the looks, but do its portability, screen quality and processing power live up to the billing?...

Lenovo Ideapad Y700 Touch (15

Lenovo's 15-inch Ideapad Y700 Touch might not be an obvious choice if you're in the market for a midrange gaming laptop, but with superb battery life and good performance and features for the price, it should be on your short list.

Terrific battery life. Good performance, features for the price. Decent amount of storage.

Video card may soon be obsolete. No USB-C port.

Conclusion How much you care about gaming will determine how much you're willing to spend on a laptop dedicated to it. There are screaming machines that can blast through the latest AAA titles almost as well as ultra-expensive desktops, but that...

Lenovo Ideapad 700 (15-inch) Review: Return of the (Budget) King

The 15-inch Ideapad Y700 holds many of the same cornerstones the Y series was known for; understated design, sturdy build quality, and affordable performance. Add in the improved display and SSD and you have a solid mid-range gaming notebook.

Solid performance ; Vibrant display ; Excellent Speakers

Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK 80NW Notebook Review

A familiar refresh. The jump from the Y50 to the 15.6-inch Y700 brings about a few important upgrades, but there are still some major holes in terms of features and accessibility that have yet to be implemented.

no major CPU or GPU throttling issues, fast display response times, no major backlight bleeding, improved build quality, upgradeable SODIMM RAM, M.2, and 2.5-inch SATA bays, quiet keyboard

end-user maintenance could have been easier, pulsating fan when idling on High Performance, limited connectivity options; no USB Type-C or mDP, no dedicated Macro or auxiliary keys, heavy for its size, limited color coverage

Lenovo calls its Y700 series the entry-level gaming solution that also doubles as a multimedia experience. When judging under this pretense, the refresh is a success as its core basics are excellent. Display quality is very good with fast response...

Lenovo IdeaPad Y700-15ACZ Notebook Review

Badly designed. Even though it might not be the fault of the processor manufacturer, AMD-based notebooks do not have the best reputation. The reviewed model of the new Lenovo Y700 confirms this statement. The alleged gaming notebook is hardly suitable...

improved build quality, expandable RAM, M.2 and 2.5 inch slots, quiet keyboard, IPS panel with great contrast, good sound

Maintenance could be simpler, pretty few interfaces (no USB 3.1 Type-C, no DisplayPort), limited gamut, slow response time of the display (measured) & PWM, partly slow, relatively high power consumption, clock rate drops under 3D load

Lenovo presents a gaming notebook with which you cannot play computer games well in its current state. Thus, we advise against buying it. The manufacturer definitely needs to revise it and check the clock rate problem mentioned in the test.

Lenovo ideapad Y700 Touch 15" Review: A Solid Gaming Laptop

We've already taken a in-depth look at the 17-inch model, and came away impressed. Let's see if the ideapad Y700 Touch 15-inch gives us the same impression.

Solid performance, well designed, great speakers, decent battery life for a gaming laptop.

Keypad conflicts with keyboard, software pop ups from bloatware becomes annoying.

Like I said in the beginning of this review, we loved the 17-inch model of the Lenovo ideapad Y700. The ideapad Y700 Touch 15-inch is no different. Unlike the 17-inch model, the Touch is a bit more portable, without sacrificing any of the performance....

Lenovo ideapad Y700 Touch 15″ Review: A Solid Gaming Laptop

In the middle of 2015, I built a mid-range gaming rig. I opted to piece one together myself versus getting one that's pre-built. I never even considered a gaming laptop as my previous experiences with them have been lackluster. Even so, I jumped at the...

Solid performance, well designed, great speakers, decent battery life for a gaming laptop

Keypad conflicts with keyboard, software pop ups from bloatware becomes annoying

Lenovo has a solid gaming option in the ideapad Y700 Touch. It packs in solid specs and performance in a 15.6-inch frame and can handle whatever you throw at it.

Lenovo Y700 Touch 15-inch Gaming Laptop Review

Today we are taking a look at Lenovo's latest gaming laptop which is the Y700. It follows in the footsteps of the Y50 and comes in a few different flavors. The

– Great Performance ; – Impressive build quality ; – Backlit keyboard ; – Plays all current games at good graphics settings ; – Good speakers ; – Optimus support for longer battery life ; – Lenovo gaming accessories

– Semi-glossy screen causes glare ; – No USB type-C or NVMe support ; – Fingerprint magnet

I think that Lenovo really has done a great job on the Y700 Touch and it is an gaming laptop that I can recommend in its price-range. Again, and I mentioned at the beginning of this review Lenovo might not be a brand you think of if you are looking for...
