Medion Erazer X6813 (MD97762)

This stunning gaming laptop offers a Full HD 15.6in screen, Core i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, GTX 460M graphics and a Blu-ray drive for under £900!

Bargain price ; Relatively powerful graphics ; Great overall spec ; Good connectivity ; 1080p screen

Average keyboard ; No keyboard backlighting ; Glossy screen ; Poor 2.1 speakers ; Noisy under load

Medion's 15.6in Erazer X6813 gaming laptops provide some of the best bargains to be had for true gaming performance in a mobile package, punching far above their price thanks to GTX460M graphics and Full HD screens across the range (even on the £750...

Medion Erazer X6813 review

Big performance with an affordable price tag

Great performance from the GPU ; Very reasonably priced ; USB 3.0 and HDMI out ; Clear, loud speakers ; Sandy Bridge CPU

Washed-out screen displays faded blacks ; GPU drains battery life ; Noisy and hot when the discrete GPU's in use ; Unresponsive trackpad ; Downmarket visuals

Medion's Erazer X6813 – branded as a "gaming notebook" – might seem like an oxymoron to some.

Medion Erazer X6813

In the shiny world of expensive MacBooks and lightning-quick Alienware laptops we frequently pay through the nose for power. Getting that all-out speed however doesn't necessarily require a nasty dent in your bank balance. There are plenty of laptops...

Extremely good value for money, proper GeForce GTX 460M graphics card, full HD display, Blu-ray player

Cheap build, viewing angles, battery life

The tech snob inside us wants to trash the Medion for its money saving approach to design and its bulky feel. The problem is every time we boot the laptop up and get gaming, we realise none of that matters. What is important is power and lots of it. No...

Very powerful components, but the keyboard and screen let the Erazer down

Medion X6813 review

Medion has previously impressed us with some of its low cost, yet very powerful gaming laptops. The X6813 is the latest model to be added to its gaming stable.

Hugely fast graphics chip; Speedy Core i7 processor; Low-ish price tag; Blu-ray drive.

Bulky and ugly; Very large power supply.

It's not the most handsome gaming laptop we've ever clapped eyes on, and its display could be better, but the Erazer X6813 manages to pack a powerful gaming punch without costing the earth.

Supermarket tech specialist Medion may not be a brand traditionally associated with high performance gaming laptops, but even the most discerning Steam addict will find it hard to be snobbish about the components inside its latest machine. High spec...

Great battery life.

Screen is poorly backlit, lacks contrast and suffers from colour inconsistencies.

Kitguru says: Business users should look at the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 which is only slightly more expensive and is significantly better. Gamers should look at the recent Asus or MSI machines, around £1,000.

Review Medion Erazer X6813 Notebook

Price-performance hit. Medion commandingly proved that honest-to-goodness gaming notebooks don't necessarily have to be expensive. For a fair 1149 Euros, the Erazer X6813 boasts a current quad-core from Intel as well as Nvidia's GeForce GTX 460M. Too...

Matte case surfaces, Low temperatures, Impressive sound, Very good performance, Fair price, The great 2.1 sound system and the good balanced relation of performance and price

Rather high noise generation, CPU-throttling under full load, Rickety keyboard, Average display, A qualitatively high-end display with better values
