MSI GE620

A gaming laptop with a top-flight i7 processor for under £800? Sounds like good value, doesn't it.

Lots of CPU power, Decent value

Drab looks, Middling keyboard, No Blu-ray player

MSI GE620 review

Most high-end MSI laptops aimed at gamers are big, bulky and often covered in LEDs and bright colours, but the GE620 breaks the tradition. Despite having a powerful CPU and Nvidia graphics card, the design is far more refined.

Great performance in both 2D and 3D makes the GE620 a real bargain if power is your priority

MSI GE620 review

The MSI GE620 may not be the most eye-catching of the bunch, but it has got plenty of power at its disposal. One of two laptops we tested with the Intel Core i7-2630QM processor – a quad-core model from the Sandy Bridge range – the MSI scored a...

The GE620 from MSI is very obviously targeted at the gaming crowd, but it has much to offer anyone looking for a desktop replacement for under £1000. In fact, you’ll have plenty of change from a grand – it’s just a shame that the model we tested had a...

MSI GE620 Gaming Laptop Review (Core i7/Nvidia)

Gaming laptops are for an elite audience, where ultimate performance is paramount. Sadly they aren't cheap either, often costing £1,500, or more. Fear ye not, for today because we are looking at the MSI GE 620, a 15.6 inch portable which packs in a...

Powerful system, thanks to Core i7 2630QM ; fast 7,200 rpm hard drive ; Nvidia graphics are excellent ; price point is fantastic ; good battery life

bland design for a ‘gaming' laptop ; screen quality is average ; gets hot ; is noisy under load ; keyboard and trackpad are average

Kitguru says: It offers a lot of performance for the money, but you need to be able to live with an average screen and considerable noise and heat.

MSI GE620 Sandy Bridge laptop

MSI GE620 review: An Intel Core i7-based laptop with NVIDIA graphics

Intel 2nd Gen Core i7 CPU, fast graphics performance, 1920x1080 screen resolution

Build quality not great, touchpad and keyboard could be better, NVIDIA Optimus technology unreliable

MSI's GE620 is a good value performance laptop with a very good configuration. However, it's let down by some build quality issues and NVIDIA Optimus technology that doesn't always work.

MSI GE620 gaming notebook Review

What constitutes a gaming notebook? High-end specifications and some fancy lighting? Well, at least that's the general route companies take when

MSI has priced the GE620 for Rs. 49,990 which is not a bad deal at all considering the configuration. Having said that, the Acer TimelineX 5830TG has similar specifications and is also a good 10K cheaper. However, the build quality is not as good as...

Good allround performance, Optimus technology, Attractive price, 2x USB 3.0, The graphics switching and the great price-to-performance ratio

High temperature and noise emissions under load, Uncomfortable touchpad surface, Meager connectivity, CPU throttling during stress test, Modest display, Lower emissions and a good display

Consumer review (newegg.com)

it's ok , still going strong

I want to sell this and buy me a different one now...idk the mouse pad is really getting to me lately ....USB 3.0 doesn't seem like it even makes a difference in speed or I may need to update it. idk

fast, update the bios or else the cpu takes a dive (slow) in battery mode....graphics are nice, still holding up right now....sturdy....good for processing things

I hate the mouse pad....it's got a "grainy" feel to it and sometimes when I work a lot and my hands start to sweat then the mouse pad wont recognize my finger and really annoys the heck out of me...oh and the grainy feel is starting to fade in the...
