Acer Aspire One notebook

We had a First Look at the Acer Aspire One at the launch - link below - but how does the One stand-up under closer scrutiny? Acer has hit a great price point with the Aspire One and if your budget is tight it's an interesting machine to opt for....

Decent performance, reasonable battery life

Awkward interface, fanless so gets warm

Acer has hit a great price point with the Aspire One and if your budget is tight it's an interesting machine to opt for. However, if Acer wants it to be seen as anything other than a mini-notebook it needs to quickly launch its connected version as...

Acer Aspire One - First Look

Joining in the race to get a slice of the rapidly-growing mini PC pie, is Acer, with their Aspire One. But will this offer you something the Asus Eee PC, HP Mini-Note or MSI Wind will not? We got our hands on the new Aspire One at the press launch in...

Price, options for spec, simple Linux interface

Trackpad not the best

Review Acer Aspire One 756-B847X Netbook

Are they still around? We haven't tested a netbook in four months

matte screen; relatively high processor performance; fair price; solid construction; good input devices

significant temperature increase under load; small, difficult-to-use arrow keys; poor battery life for a netbook

That Acer is still making netbooks, when many competitors have already turned away.

Review Acer Aspire One 756 Subnotebook

A miniscule Pentium subnotebook. The Acer 7xx series has been upgraded to have the ultra low voltage Intel Pentium processors for the first time instead of the traditional AMD chips. We will need to see if this is a better choice than the AMD E2-1800...

Light, handy, Small AC adapter, Easy maintenance access, Practical battery life, The low price will find fans

Bendable chassis, Low gaming performance, Gets hot under load, TFT not anti-glare, Wobbly keyboard, Long charging time - three hours, A matte display with reasonable brightness

Acer Aspire One 756 with the Celeron 877 Review – Video

Acer has come to market with a device that is the new benchmark for the netbook category. The Aspire One 756 is 11.6 inches and runs an Intel Celeron 877 CPU which is actually based on Sandy Bridge architecture. We ran it through the paces and...

The Acer Aspire One 756 has been updated and refined compared to the previous generations. The screen is more vibrant with wide viewing angles, the keyboard is solid to type on and the processor is twice as fast as any other Netbook processor on the...

Junk

Small, worked good for two years.

I hate spending money on something like this just to have it die in two years.

Great

It took me 2 months to find a netbook thst met my specific requirements. I wanted something running windows 7, 64-bit, but also power saving without sacrificing processing power. This covered all those factors

- Its a netbook without an atom or E-series processor. - 64-bit, unlike almost every other netbook at tiem time I bought it - 4GB DDR3 1333, which can be upgraded to 8. - Processor acutally runs games pretty well (Runs Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, Left...

- The track pad did not work. That is the ONLY reason I am taking an egg off. i needed it for my externship, so I couldn't return it for another, and it was shortly discontinued after I bought it. I don't care anyway as I HATE using trackpads

Screen dead

Unfortunately, by time my mom(whom I bought this for) let me know about this it had been a few months, so not sure what trying to send back to Acer might look like. Saw a suggested fix related to updating BIOS, so may try that next. Would love to hear...

Seemed like a great value(prive vs performance). Looked good, too.

Screen died on me. After about a month the screen went blank. Computer boots up(can hear fans and can see power lights, optical drives spins up, too) but nothing on screen at all(no POST, no Windows, nothing). Have tried all the usual stuff. Opened it...
