Razer Blade 15 (2019) review: RTX-powered gaming bliss?

The new RTX-powered Razer Blade 15 is a powerful, compact and high-spec laptop force to be reckoned with. But is it too hot to handle?

Capable and easy-on-the-eye 144Hz screen ; Compact form-factor ; Understated design ; Great sounding speakers ; High-quality gaming experiences

Gets very hot under load ; Hefty price tag ; Finnicky trackpad ; Slightly awkward keyboard layout

Like the previous version, the Razer Blade 15 is a fully capable laptop that's nicely understated and wouldn't stand out in the office. With new Nvidia RTX graphics it has some serious gaming punch too. The pricetag might raise some eyebrows, but...

Razer Blade Stealth 13 (2019) review

It's good-looking, light and quiet – can this light gaming laptop punch above its weight?

Enough power for esports and casual games ; Smart, slim and sturdy design ; Impressive screen quality ; Different specifications available

Expensive, no matter the model ; Can’t handle high-end games ; Mediocre battery life ; Underwhelming keyboard for games

Great design and reasonable performance, but it’s expensive and only handles casual games

Razer Blade 15 Advanced (2019) review

The latest Razer Blade laptop is unsurprisingly stunning – but can it match style with substance?

RTX 2070 offers great gaming speed ; Six-core CPU, plenty of memory and a large SSD ; Exterior looks and feels fantastic ; Screen has superb colour quality

CPU throttles, hampering performance ; Too hot and too loud ; Contrast could be better ; More expensive than rivals

It looks fantastic and has good gaming pace, but it’s not slick enough during day-to-day use

Razer Blade 15 (2019)

Good GPU power, a superb screen and sleek design make for an impressive esports option – but it's expensive, and more CPU ability can be found elsewhere. Here's our Razer Blade 15 review for 2019.

Razer Blade 15 (2019) review: Sharper than ever

Razer's new Blade 15 may look the same as its predecessor, but it packs several nice updates and improvements.

Excellent 144Hz IPS display;Gorgeous design and impeccable build quality;Compact, thin, and has good battery life;Large glass precision trackpad

No SD card slot;Odd location of right Shift key;Can get quite noisy

Razer Blade Advanced: One of our favorite gaming designs, but be prepared to pay for it

The 15-inch Razer Blade makes the jump to new Nvidia RTX graphics, but even the entry level RTX model is expensive.

Typically great Razer design, at its best in the alternate Mercury White color scheme. Excellent performance, especially considering the small size. One of the only gaming laptops with a very thin screen bezel.

Faster RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 GPUs are not available in the white color scheme. The system can get very hot, which has led to some online complaints.

The Razer Blade 15-inch gaming laptop keeps up with the Nvidia RTX trend. The base model feels expensive, but the higher-end version hits a good mix of price and performance.

Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model (2019)

The 2019 Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model takes last year's slick, winning design and adds peppy, muscled-up Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics. It's our top recommendation in its class.

Portable, spiffy design. High-end build quality. Hits well over 60fps while gaming with its RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU. 144Hz display benefits from high frame rates. Per-key RGB keyboard backlighting. Good battery life.

Garish lid logo. Runs hot while gaming. White "Mercury Edition" costs extra.

Bottom Line: The 2019 Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model takes last year's slick, winning design and adds peppy, muscled-up Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics. It's our top recommendation in its class.

Razer Blade Stealth review: The best Windows alternative to a MacBook Pro

The redesigned Stealth might be pricey, but it's still less than Apple's high-end 13-incher and has better specs, too.

The 2019 Razer Blade Stealth cleans up nicely with a new streamlined design and a smaller, lighter body and the option for a beautiful color-calibrated 4K UHD display and discrete graphics.

It's expensive, particularly with the 4K display and discrete graphics, both of which hurt battery life.

It's no bargain, but anyone looking for a Windows alternative to a 13-inch MacBook Pro should start their search with the Razer Blade Stealth.
