Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA

The ZenBook 3 has redefined the Ultrabook, with the lightest and thinnest Intel Core i-powered laptop on the planet. However, as you might expect, the compromises that are made when you shrink a laptop down are notable, but certainly not deal-breakers.

Asus ZenBook 3 review: A super-thin MacBook killer?

Great screen ; Really lightweight ; Good-looking design

Poor trackpad ; Just shy of all-day battery life ; Expensive

The Asus ZenBook 3 is one of the slimmest, lightest, most like-a-MacBook-but-not-a-MacBook Windows laptops you'll find.

Asus ZenBook 3 review

Svelte, portable, powerful

Crystal clear display ; Lightweight and very portable ; Reliable fingerprint sensor

Weird fingerprint sensor placement ; A single USB-C port

The Zenbook 3 looks the part of a slick and powerful ultra-portable laptop, only with a mushy keyboard and odd fingerprint sensor placement.

Asus ZenBook 3 review: A proper Apple MacBook substitute

Looks good, feels great and works wonders - Asus' ZenBook 3 is a Windows 10-powered ultraportable marvel

Superbly thin ; Lavish build quality ; Excellent Kaby Lake performance

Disappointing battery life ; Only one USB Type-C port

For just £955, you get a Windows 10 ultraportable that’s just as svelte as its Apple rival with a significant performance advantage. If you’re unsure of switching to macOS or you’re thinking of making the move to Windows for the first time, this...

Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA review

Undercutting Apple is one thing, but compromising on keyboard, trackpad and screen is quite another. Asus has designed a beautiful laptop, but it's not without its flaws. Here's our Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA review

The Asus ZenBook 3 UX390UA is an extremely light laptop and one that doesn’t compromise performance or kill battery life as a result. It’s also more affordable than some of the alternatives, particularly in its entry-level spec. However, we’re not...

Asus ZenBook 3 review

When is a MacBook not a MacBook? There's a long history of PC makers selling computers that have a striking resemblance to one of Apple's laptops. Sometimes this is in the form of a subtle homage, other times, it's a literal attack of the clones. We'd...

Powerful Core i7 processor in a slim, portable package with an excellent touchpad. A helpful USB-C mini-dock is included.

The 12.5-inch display is locked at 1,920x1,080 resolution, and it isn't a touchscreen. Lots of extra bloatware. Battery life isn't as good as the MacBook. Other similarly configured systems cost less.

The Asus ZenBook 3 mimics many of the best features of Apple's 12-inch MacBook, but in a Windows version with a more powerful processor.

Asus ZenBook 3 review: Finally, a MacBook alternative for Windows 10 fans

It may not be quite as slick, but a lower price means this MacBook alternative is a tempting Windows 10 ultraportable

If you’re in the market for an ultraportable laptop you’ll no doubt already have eyed up the 12in MacBook – but you may well have been unsure whether the low-power processor will meet your needs, or indeed unsure about switching to macOS.

Asus ZenBook 3 review

  (Rating Hidden)

Asus calls the ZenBook 3 'the world's most prestigious laptop, with unprecedented performance'. It's a bold sales pitch, but the laptop features Intel's brand new seventh generation processor and some other impressive specifications. We've tested the...

ASUS ZenBook 3 (UX390UA) Ultrabook Review

Hot on the heels of our Dell XPS 13 review, today we are looking at the brand-new ASUS ZenBook 3. Wh A new, ultra-thin notebook from ASUS – how does it compare with the likes of the Dell XPS 13?

Beautifully thin.

A single USB 3.1 Type-C is the only connection input.

For those looking for the most portable laptop around, you will struggle to do better than the ZenBook 3. However, its tiny size negatively affects the keyboard, trackpad, I/O options and battery life – as such, there are just too many compromises made...
