Samsung Ativ Book 9 Spin review

This featherweight 3K Ultrabook asks for your top dollar

Featherweight frame ; Incredibly thin ; Stunning 4K screen

A bit expensive ; Limited customization options ; Mushy keyboard

Lightweight, high in resolution and performance, Samsung's latest Ativ Book 9 Spin delivers on everything you want from an Ultrabook with an extra hybridization feature.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 (2015) review

Samsung's smallest, sharpest and safest Ultrabook yet

Super thin and light ; Cool screen features ; Solid security measures

Pretty expensive ; Short on screen space

Be prepared to pay up for Samsung's would-be Retina MacBook Air rival, filled to the brim with security and style.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 (2015) review

Before Apple even announced its slim, lightweight 12-inch MacBook , Samsung had already released a nearly identical product. First seen at CES 2015, the Samsung Ativ Book 9 matches the MacBook nearly spec for spec.

Samsung fits a good number of ports into its very slim 12-inch Ativ Book 9. The system gets the best battery life to date from a Windows system running a Core M processor.

Shorter battery life than Apple's very similar 12-inch MacBook, and a matching configuration costs more. The lack of a touch screen and small touch pad aren't ideal for Windows 8.

This very usable 12-inch laptop is a good, if expensive, tool for websurfing and casual use, but would benefit from better battery life.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus review

This MacBook-baiting Ultrabook has the highest resolution screen of any laptop. But is it more than just a pixelly face?

Spectacular screen ; Ultra-desirable design ; Good battery life

Slightly underpowered ; Too high-res for Windows 8.1 ; Glitchy trackpad

The most luxurious mobile home you can give to Windows 8

Samsung Ativ Book 9 review: Last year's Series 9 with a new name

Don't expect anything new in the Book 9, at least in the configuration we reviewed: other than a higher-resolution display, this ultrabook's an unfortunate tweener before inevitable fall upgrades.

The ; is still one of the smallest and best-built Windows 8 ultrabooks around, and has a crisp 1080p display.

It lacks a touch screen, and battery life is disappointing for such an expensive laptop.

Formerly the Samsung Series 9, the rebranded Ativ Book 9 got little more than a change in name; the laptop feels dated, as it lacks a touch screen and the benefits of newer Intel processors.

Samsung's ATIV Book 9: What all future Windows laptops will look like [REVIEW]

Gorgeously thin frame ; Ultra light ; Kickass display with very bright

Pricey ; Occasional slowdowns ; Wonky Samsung software ; Middling battery life

The Samsung ATIV Book is the yin to Apple's new MacBook yang.

Samsung's pricey new Ativ Book 9 Pro and Spin look like worthy MacBook competitors

Two machines with sturdy aluminum frames, plenty of ports and ultra-high-res touchscreens.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 2015

Both systems have 12-inch displays with better-than-HD resolutions, both use Intel's Core M processor , both have premium-feeling designs and are very slim and light, with each weighing just a hair over two pounds.
