Samsung Series 3 Chromebook

A slim and stylish ChromeOS ultraportable with all the extras for £230 sounds like a bargain.

Super affordable ; Slim and stylish ; Good performance ; Generous connectivity ; Decent battery life

Poor screen ; Rear connectivity is awkard ; No touch ; ChromeOS needs to be online to be its best

Last of all there’s a cover hiding a SIM card slot for the optional mobile broadband found on some models. Alas, you won’t find this to be active on the XE303C12. However, Bluetooth is part of the package, as is Wi-Fi N. Ethernet can be added through a...

Samsung Series 3 Chromebook 303C

The Samsung Series 3 Chromebook is the latest in the line of Google OS based laptops. The Chromebook concept is a potentially great one, but one that's largely been a letdown on account of its price just not matching up to the limited feature set.

Small, transportable, Google OS is simple, tie-ins with Google Drive and other Google products, price is closer to where it should be

Poor screen viewing angle, no 3G, an occasionally poor browsing experience, limited on-board storage, needs to be online for full experience, app limitations, just not exciting

The Chromebook concept is a potentially great one, but one that's largely been a letdown on account of its price just not matching up to the limited feature set.

Samsung Chromebook Series 3 review

Google's Chromebooks received a lukewarm reception on release last year. Can Samsung's refreshed model bring the concept to the boil?

9-hour battery life ; 10-second boot-to-log-in awesomeness ; Fast, Apple-slick and silent ; Google apps that work offline

Shaky media playback ; Let-down sound quality ; Substandard screen

Samsung’s improvements, combined with the price drop, make this an attractive netbook alternative. It’s at its best as a mobile or kids’ computer.

Samsung Chromebook Series 3

While I saw a prototype unit a couple of years ago at Google, earlier versions of Chromebooks have passed me by. Rather different to a PC notebook and also different from a Google Tablet a Chromebook is a category of its own.

When I first saw one the things you noticed were that the keyboard had no function keys, this is still true. No local storage was possible and so therefore if you had no Internet connection you had a unit that could do nothing, this is no longer true....

Samsung Series 3 Chromebook Review

In an age of smartphones, tablets, transformers, ultrabooks and retina displays, Google's Chromebooks – a series of cloud-centric laptops – are probably the least appealing of the bunch. The common knowledge that you'll be purchasing an underpowered...

So should you buy a Chromebook? Well, that depends. If the question is whether you should buy the new Samsung Series 3 Chromebook over the other Chromebooks on the market, then I’d wholeheartedly say yes. It’s portable, silent and definitely value for...

Samsung Chromebook 3: Cheaper, more productive alternative to a tablet

This Chromebook is perfect for someone who wants a lightweight, portable tablet-like machine that has a keyboard.

Better performance than many tablets ; Sturdy construction

Takes time to adapt to the keyboard ; No physical right-click option

Samsung's $249 Chromebook is what it should've been all along: Cheap

The $249 Samsung Chromebook is a solid device for the price and an interesting illustration of what the new ARM chips can do. But don't push it too hard with lots of browser tabs or heavyweight Web apps.

The ; is a lightweight, thin, and inexpensive laptop for those times when all you need is a powerful browser.

The Chromebook's low price comes out in its build quality and performance.

The $249 Samsung Chromebook is a good extra computer for cloud-loving Google-centric Web users.
