Sony Vaio Pro review

When Sony announced the Vaio range of computers in 1996 or thereabouts it had one aim - to make PCs stylish, but powerful. Of course, this isn't all that easy and so Vaio desktops and laptops were expensive. But if you could afford one, you'd end up...

Light, powerful, great looking, best keyboard we've used, fantastic screen and great sound, sensibly price in comparison with competition

Loudish fan in high load periods, comes with a load of rubbish software including the will-destroying McAfee

What can we say Sony, it worked. Within seconds of picking up the Pro we'd fallen in love with it. It's stylish, thin and light. The screen is gorgeous, and the touch control works. It has just about the best keyboard we've used on a laptop, and in...

Sony VAIO Pro review: 'we're going to war with the MacBook Air'

My go-to laptop buying advice has been the same for the last two years, at least for anyone who doesn't know their PRAM from their Linux kernel. Oh, you're looking for a new laptop? Buy a MacBook Air. Apple's cheapest and lightest notebook is the easy...

Ridiculously thin and light ; Fantastic battery life

Huge build quality problems ; Ugly, problematic keyboard backlight in silver version ; Trackpad and Wi-Fi can be finicky ; Base model has a few performance issues

Sony made too many compromises with the 11-inch Pro

Sony Vaio Pro Review: Climbing A Steeper Grading Curve

There is no joy in the Sony Vaio Pro. For a laptop that is, in substance, elegant and powerful, that's strange. It's pretty and sleek and slim, but somehow with none of the joie de vivre that typically comes along with that.

Probably not. But if you do, hell, you’ll probably enjoy it. The thing is there’s nothing flatly wrong with the Vaio Pro, and a whole lot right. And if its super lightweight frame is enough to sway you — if you were born with hollow bones and can...

Consumer review (productreview.com.au)

Heres a real review about the Vaio.

I purchased my Sony Vaio Pro 13 as an ex-demo off eBay. It was un-used, just an ex-demo. Anyway, starting it up, using it regularly, I began to notice 2 things. - Wireless began dropping out. - Fan was screaming. Yes, just like the other reviews, the...

Very Poorly made

I have the silver version and the pigment on the case comes off very easily leaving behind the black base material. After a few weeks of moderate use the device looks very worn and ugly. This product has not been well designed. You can find much better...

Broke down after 3 months

After three months, this computer was sent in for repair as it would not pick up wifi. This started a 8 week saga as Sony tried to fix this computer, not helped by the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing. Never before have I experienced...

Lightweight, easy to handle

Vaio Pro - Poor Wireless

Be aware that there is a known issue with Vaio Pro wireless performance. Constant dropouts and/or very poor speeds, do a quick internet search for all the information. It would seem to be a hardware issue as the driver updates do not rectify the issue....
