Sony VAIO T13

The VAIO T13 is Sony's first Ultrabook and manages to impress for its sub-£600 price.

Very affordable ; Original design ; Decent screen

Relatively heavy and ‘fat ; Average keyboard ; Average performance

We have no complaints regarding the touchpad though. While not as large as the massive glass pads on many premium Ultrabooks, it offers a pleasant surface and responsive action, with a nice click to its integrated ‘buttons’.

Sony Vaio T13 Touch review: ultraportable laptop with a touch screen

At 1.6kg it's by no means the lightest ultrabook around but it's undoubtedly an ultraportable. You can pick it up quite easily with one hand, and it's just 19mm thick, so you can slip it into a backpack or briefcase and carry it practically everywhere...

There’s no single feature of the T Series 13 that is particularly eye-catching or innovative. However, it does provide you with an ultraportable design with good performance and battery life for well under £800, which – regardless of what you think...

Sony Vaio T13 Ultrabook review

Sony has arrived fashionably late to the ultrabook party. However, you could argue that the Z series, which went on sale in mid-2011, was an Ultrabook in all but name. The new T series is available with 11 and 13-inch screen sizes, both having the same...

A well-rounded entry-level Ultrabook, although not without its faults

Sony has also done a great job with the all-in-one touchpad – we don’t normally like these designs, preferring physical buttons, but the multi-touch gestures make it much easier to use than the touchpads from other manufacturers we’ve used in the past....

Sony VAIO T13 review

The SVT1311M1E is available to pre-order on Sony's website but will go on sale in John Lewis, PC World and other high street shops in early June. If you'd prefer something smaller and lighter, the T11 starts at £629 for the SVT1111C5E model which...

Sony Vaio T13 Ultrabook review: First look

The 13in Ultrabook packs lots of native connectivity such as HDMI and Ethernet ports into the 1.6kg chassis. The T13 also has a solid keyboard and touts a nine hour battery life.

The T13 Vaio has all the ingredients to make it the best Ultrabook on the market. It comes with a beautifully crafted chassis, plenty of ports and a more than reasonable sub-£700 price point.
