Sony VAIO T13 review

When we saw the first incarnation of the Sony VAIO T13 we though it was 'a well-rounded entry-level Ultrabook, although not without its faults'. At the time it was cheap, by Ultrabook standards, but this update has gone upmarket with a new Ivy Bridge...

Ivy Bridge and an SSD make a world of difference, but it's expensive

Sony VAIO T13 review

Currently the best low-priced Ultrabook on the market, but this Sony does have its weaknesses

Performance is fine, though. The result of 0.45 in our Real World Benchmarks puts it a little way behind models with Turbo Boost-equipped Core i5 processors, but it’s more than adequate for general use. As ever, the weakling Intel HD Graphics 3000...

Sony VAIO T13

More Info Sony announces its first Ultrabooks, the VAIO T13 and T11, for the European market Sony's VAIO T13 Ultrabook coming to the US this month with Ivy Bridge in tow, prices start at $800 Sony VAIO T Series Ultrabook hands-on (video) Until...

Attractive brushed silver design ; Priced to compete ; Good everyday performance ; Highly configurable

Uncomfortable keyboard ; Heavy for an Ultrabook

Sony's first Ultrabook boasts a budget-friendly price and an attractive design, but it's not the highest-performing or longest-lasting system out there.

Sony VAIO T13: A Middle-of-the-Road Ultrabook

Long before many other laptop vendors began experimenting with netbooks and ultraportables, Sony was making skinny, lightweight laptops--many with small screens, most of them rather pricey. Its first Ultrabook, the VAIO T13, is neither exceptionally...

Moderately priced, lightweight ; Good audio, fast startup, lots of storage

Keyboard isn't great ; Hybrid drive slows down some tasks

The Sony VAIO T13 delivers most of what you expect from an Ultrabook with some popular consumer features at a surprisingly affordable price.

Sony Vaio T13 review – a stylish and affordable ultrabook

The Sony Vaio T13 is a budget ultrabook, but an overall nice, solid and fast machine. It does have its downsides of course, as corners are cut in order to meet the low price, although I don't find any of them true deal-breakers.

nice design, feels overall solid, several hardware configs available, runs cool, the battery, memory and hard-drive are easily accessible, good price

a bit heavy, mushy keyboard, noisy when pushed, sub-par battery life, poor screen, poor performances on this tested unit

All in all, the Sony Vaio T13 is a rather good laptop, for its price. As a budget machine, you can’t expect it to be as good as the premium 13.3 inch ultrabook, so it’s obvious Sony had to cut some corners in order to get this one in stores as cheap as...
