D-Link DSM-750

The 802.11n-compatible D-Link DSM-750 excels when used as a Windows Media Center Extender, but it costs almost as much as the Xbox 360 which offers a lot more for your money.

Wireless HD video streaming. 802.11n and 5GHz support. Full complement of outputs, including HDMI. Windows Media Center Extender mode for use with Vista. Silent operation.

Expensive. Requires Vista PC to take advantage of all features (though it works, in a reduced capacity, with Windows XP). No Mac or Linux support.

Review: D-Link DSM-750 MediaLounge Extender

Go ahead and bash Windows Vista (it's fun!), but don't knock its sweet, sweet Media Center app. Bundled with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate, MC...

Cinchy setup. Streams content from PCs and NAS drives. Supports live TV viewing, recording and timeshifting, provided your PC has a tuner. Front-mounted USB port lets you play content from flash drives

Video tops out at 1080i. Menus look a bit muddy. No volume controls on the extender remote. Can’t play DVDs. Wireless streaming demands high-end Draft-N router. Xbox 360 works equally well and plays games and DVDs to boot

D-Link DSM-750

The D-Link DSM-750 system is a great idea, and it would have been a great device if the company had spent a bit more time testing out the product and working out glitches with the software. Experts are suggesting that most of the problems experienced...

Cool Media Extender

Should have ability to upgrade (about the memory)

I've just got DSM-750 almost 2 weeks. Easy installation.

It takes time to boot DSM-750.

Best DLink media player yet!!!

I've owned the DSM-320, DSM-320RD, DSM-510, DSM-520 and now this one. I really thought the DSM-510 was nice compared to the earlier ones, but now having experienced the DSM-750 it is now king of the hill. As expected there were bumps to getting...

Great Product from D-Link... about time

I have tried to convert the .mkv to other containers keeping the HD format and have been succesful with the DSM-750 playing them back, but the audio goes out of sync no matter what other container I try, avi, mp4, wmv. The video looks great though. I...

Plays back everything it says it will, no problems. Easy set up for both Media Extender or Media Lounge. I have it set up for Media Lounge and use both D-Link Media server and Tversity media server and it works great with both. Video is smooth and...

Doesn't play back .mkv hd video which almost all HD video is in this container. Maybe D-Link can add support for this container in future upgrade.

Don't buy it! Junk!

Don't buy it! It's worthless junk. I'm returning mine to newegg first thing tomorrow AM.

It mostly works.

Display is *terrible*. Ugly, ugly, ugly at every resolution. Fonts and pictures are a blurred mess.

FYI - Will not play dvd-menus, IFO/ISO

A fyi for people considering purchase of the dsm750; it does not support IFO and ISO dvd rips. It does not support recreation of interactive dvd menus (a dealbreaker for me). If you have a single directory of movies that are all named differently...

Plays a wide range of media, supports and plays large vob files without a hitch. is terrific for playing 'typical' single-file movies. upnp works well to connect to your home network and upnp-enabled nas devices

At this price point, hdmi 1.3a, 1080i/p, support for an internal hard disk, and good upscale/upconverting are normally included. The software interface lacks some serious polish. you can not play interactive dvd's (you are out of luck if you want/need...

Awesome

This is my first review, ever of any product on any site (at least that I can remember). So, this is already saying something.

Works perfectly, great performance over Wi-Fi. Capable of streaming from a Vista Media Center PC *and* a UPnP server. Live TV capability is amazing.

Practically none
