Linn Majik DS-1 review

A DS player and amplifier in a single case is a one-box wonder

The sound is alluring with hi-res recordings, especially with classical music ; Excellent at picking out the highs and lows of ripped music downloads

The networking set-up is probably too complex for the average user ; There are some competitors that offer a better performance

Storing your music on a NAS drive, hard disk server or computer and playing it through a streamer is definitely the way to go for low-fuss, high performance hi-fi. Overall, the Majik will provide most of what you'll need

Linn Majik DS-I review

This all-in-one network player promises, and delivers, astounding results. Just don't try to set it up yourself...

Multitalented unit supporting all manner of formats ; hugely detailed and poised audio

Takes time to get up and running ; can't be used via wi-fi ; expensive

Installing the DS-I is a bit of a faff – but once set up properly this player is impressive
