Roku Streaming Stick 4K

Another excellent streaming player from Roku that's easy to use, features excellent voice integration and a strong streaming performance.

Affordable ; Excellent streaming performance ; Good feature set and app selection ; Supports all main HDR formats ; Stable Wi-Fi connection

Remote could feel better to use, only controls Roku stick ; Missing a few apps here and there ; No HDMI extender (but one is available)

Another excellent streaming player from Roku that’s easy to use, features excellent voice integration and a strong streaming performance. If you don’t fancy Alexa or Google, there’s no better choice than Roku.

Roku Streaming Stick

Is the Streaming Stick a genuine Chromecast rival?

Plenty of channels ; Smartphone works great as remote control ; Very easy to use

Some slow loading times ; Takes a while to set up

In the top right hand corner is a drop down where you can move from Remote view to look at ‘My Channels’ the ‘Channel Store’ and send content to the Roku from your phone: specifically music and photos. The music has to be stored on the device so it...

Roku Streaming Stick review

Not the smoothest operator around, but the Roku Streaming Service has a good bag of tricks

Good picture and sound Features are plentiful and versatile

Power supply arrangement could be neater Chunky design may not fit smaller spaces Operation is not nearly as slick as its best rivals

When we first reviewed the Roku Streaming Stick, we gave it five stars. It’s still an impressive little package for the money, but there are better alternatives. Review updated on 27.02.15 MORE: How to add catch-up TV and online movies to your TV

Roku Streaming Stick 4K review: Bringing that Dolby Vision goodness

Roku has replaced the venerable Streaming Stick+ with an updated model, meaning more support for the latest formats.

Dolby Vision support ; AirPlay 2 and others supported ; Compact design ; Simple to use ; Covers all streaming needs

User interface could be a little more engaging ; Remote can't control AV receivers

This convenient little streamer brings additional support to your TV, now delivering stunning Dolby Vision high dynamic range visuals. Roku is an easy-to-use platform, supports a complete set of streaming services, as well as other features such as...

Roku Streaming Stick review

If you haven't bought a TV for the last couple of years then chances are it is not "smart". If you want the latest streaming and catch-up services without the cost implication of signing up to the binding contracts for a set-top box, then there are...

Small size, remains out of sight, easy to use, plenty of free catch-up and pay-for service access, responsive remote isn't IR based, app to ping personal content to TV

Requires separate power source, no headphone-capable remote, Chromecast competition, non-HDMI tellies won't work, nine tiles per UI screen limit

If you are looking to enhance your living room, or as we more likely suspect "smarten" a second TV in the house, then the Roku Streaming Stick does a good job. With full support of services like Netflix, Now TV, Sky Store, Demand 5, and 4oD, the Roku...

Roku Streaming Stick 4K review

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K may be more expensive than other Roku sticks, but the features you get in return are worth the price.

Easy to use ; Broad range of apps ; Versatile remote control

Homepage not as detailed as rivals ; Cables slightly too short ; Needs more tailored advertising

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K is easy-to-use, offers a wide range of apps and supports Dolby Vision - but it just falls short of the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

Roku Streaming Stick 4K review

Roku's best streaming stick yet is excellent value for money

Works with 4K and HDR10+ ; All the key video apps ; Simple, straightforward interface ; Digital assistant support

No Chromecast support ; Limited games and audio apps ; Not much better than existing Roku kit ; No native digital assistant

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K does just about everything you want in terms of video streaming, and it doesn’t cost much at all.
