Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Slim 320GB review

Seagate touts its FreeAgent GoFlex Slim 320GB as the world's slimmest portable hard drive. Not content with just that, the drive also offers a USB 3.0 data interface, to offer fast transfer speeds too.

The GoFlex Slim 320GB is a worthy buy for high-end ultra-portable laptop users who travel frequently and want minimum space/weight addition. It is also good if you'd like to show your peers that you have a really thin external HDD. In any case, this...

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net review

With the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net you get supereasy access to your files from any internet connection, along with the ability to share them with others.

Many users will appreciate being able to plug SATA drives directly into a Pogo-enabled dock. Our only complaint with the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net is it has only one USB port, though you can work around that (as we did) with a powered USB hub.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV review

The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV shapes up as a worthy competitor to its Western Digital rival, the WD TV Live Plus, though the slightly pricier WD TV maintains a small advantage in features, interface, and speed.

We found the FreeAgent GoFlex TV to be serviceable, with easy setup and a large selection of internet content as major pluses. It is on the slow side, however, and the interface could be better (especially for accessing settings). For a little more, we...

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV HD Media Player review

A good little media player, with full support of Blu-ray menus from ripped ISOs, but it needs a few tweaks to beat the competition.

Our main problem with the GoFlex TV is its slightly chaotic menu system. It seems like the designers were worried you wouldn’t find a certain option, and so made three different shortcuts for everything. We also found it sluggish to react sometimes,...

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex review

Massive storage for such a compact disk and above average performance, but isn't worth the significantly higher cost over a smaller drive

Seagate bundles its proprietary Dashboard software with the disk; aside from the very simple Maemo backup, all the included applications are simply trial versions that aren’t worth installing. At £122, the GoFlex is roughly £50 more than the

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net review

If you've read about the Cloud Engines Pogoplug, you know most of what you need to know about the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net.

Many users will appreciate being able to plug SATA drives directly into a Pogo-enabled dock. My only complaint is it has only one USB port, though you can work around that (as I did) with a powered USB hub.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra-portable review: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra-portable

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra-portable

The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra-portable offers great flexibility, USB 3.0, and a large amount of storage. It also works with both Macs and PCs without having to be reformatted.

The GoFlex Ultra's USB 3.0 performance could be better and the drive doesn't include a USB 3.0 add-in card for computers that don't yet have this connection.

Even with the slightly low USB 3.0 performance, the GoFlex Ultra still makes an excellent portable external hard drive for people who need to expand their computer's storage.

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV review: Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex TV

Built-in Ethernet for streaming files from a networked PC or accessing Internet services; supports Netflix streaming and other online media access; HD output up to 1080p; integrated slot for FreeAgent GoFlex storage drive; compact, stylish design; you...

No built-in Wi-Fi (wireless option costs an extra $50); Blu-ray players with similar features are available for not much more money; the drive sticks out when installed; Seagate's 1TB GoFlex drive doesn't fit inside the device; no Pandora streaming.

The inclusion of Netflix and other online-streaming options make the FreeAgent GoFlex TV a compelling option for file hoarders who also want access to cloud-based media.
