Acer has opted for Google's Android OS and Qualcomm's Snapdragon processor for its latest smartphone. Niall checks it out.

Acer Liquid S100

The Acer Liquid brings with it some impressive hardware specs as well as the Android operating system, freeing you from Windows Mobile, which Acer has been pushing thus far, in their quest for smartphone glory. Our hands-on with the Liquid certainly...

Great screen, all the tech specs, fast processor

Some bugs, Acer Social Networking doesn't really deliver, button positioning awkward

Overall the Acer Liquid is an interesting addition to the Android portfolio. It gets some things really right: the screen is a good size and resolution and responsive enough and the essentials are covered: HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. For those...

Do high end specs automatically make a good Android phone?

Fast processor ; Slim chassis ; Visual home screen bookmarks ; Speedy internet browsing

Awful battery life ; Buggy messaging system ; Confusing contacts sorting ; Constantly crashing Android system

By bringing the fastest Android phone on the planet to market, Acer has good reason to be proud of the Liquid S100. Packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and super hi-res screen, there's a lot to get excited about on this phone.

Acer Liquid A1 review

The Acer Liquid A1 is Acer's first foray into the Android arena, but does it fare better than the manufacturer's Windows-based devices? We review it to find out.

Acer A1 Liquid Android smartphone

A combination of racy CPU and the naturally slick Android UI delivers one of the most responsive touchscreen phones on the market.

The Liquid's social network integration tools are pretty poor when compared to what's on offer from the likes of Motorola, but many of us need nothing more than a good Twitter and Facebook application, both of which can be picked up gratis from the...

The Acer Liquid A1 impresses with its responsive touch UI, great looks and well-integrated Android OS.

Nicely Integrated Android OS ; Responsive Touch Screen ; Looks Beautiful ; Excellent Browser

Poor Camera ; Poor Battery Life

For a first go at a new OS, the Acer Liquid does very well. And it definitely helped me forget the dual disappointments of the neoTouch and the beTouch E101. At Rs. 25,000 (MRP in India), the Liquid is expensive and does not offer very good multimedia...

Powerful, Value, Acer Liquid (A1) Now Available in EU. Review from FRAndroid.

When did you last see a 3G-capable, WVGA capacitive touch, 5Mp, high-power platform with a huge application library for 350 Euros? The Acer Liquid appears to be lowering the entry point into the new, high-powered smartphone category.

The A1 was Acer's first Android powered handset and the first Android phone to be powered by a 1GHz snapdragon processor. With this kind of power onboard it caused a lot of buzz, somewhat setting a standard for other higher-end phones that is...
