BlackBerry Pearl 8110 review

Does adding GPS to RIM's Pearl 8110 make it an iPhone killer?

Solid GPS solution ; Packed with features ; Beloved by systems admins

Software subscription needed for GPS ; No help given to Mac users ; Not a joy to use

A solid GPS solution, but that’s the only reason to pick it over Apple’s more polished iPhone.

BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone

The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 swaps the Wi-Fi for GPS when compared to the Pearl 8120 we reviewed back in November 2007. But should you choose GPS over Wi-Fi? We find out. The real thing that sells BlackBerry to us, and this comes back to data costs again,...

GPS, simple to use, email on the move, easy to set-up and customise

Keyboard might not suit some

The real thing that sells BlackBerry to us, and this comes back to data costs again, is how easy it is to do things: whether you video something funny and email it to your friends, or take a picture of a new product at a sales conference and email it...

RIM BlackBerry 8110 review

BlackBerry is best known for its business email handsets, but the 8110 - also known as the Pearl - is more of an all-rounder.

Vodafone RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8110 review

Smartphones have gone from being corporate toys to office essentials for many workers, with internet access and the ability to pick up and to compose emails being critical elements. BlackBerry maker Research In Motion deserves much of the credit for...

We found the Vodafone interface slightly less straightforward than the standard BlackBerry one, mainly because we wanted to lock the keypad and prevent accidental calls. Email support is superior and the mapping capabilities are also strong. The...

BlackBerry 8110 Pearl

Introducing the BlackBerry 8110 Pearl, so called for the pearl-like trackball in the centre of the handset. Couple this with HTC's Diamond and you've got the makings of an expensive smartphone necklace!

Surfing the net wherever and whenever with that lovely trackball

It's lacking 3G, and that two-meg camera's a bit stingy

The BlackBerry Pearl puts the entire interweb in your pocket and keeps you in touch to boot.

Blackberry Pearl 8110

The Pearl combines Blackberry's traditional business-centric features with a consumer-friendly mobile phone. The new Pearl has an integrated GPS system, a 2 megapixel camera, and several other small improvements from it predecessor.

It is easy to set-up and customise, mobile email is great, and it has built-in GPS.

The Keyboard is strange and might not appeal to some and the web browser renders messy pages.

BlackBerry 8110 Pearl

BlackBerry 8110 Pearl is smartphone that which has a built-in GPS mapping system. Its dimensions are 106.68 mm x 60.96 mm x 12.70 mm, and it weighs approximately 90 grammes. This smartphone also has a 2 megapixel camera and SureType QWERTY keyboard...

The satnav is a nice touch, but the 8110’s main selling point is still its style and email skills. Come on, it's been the main selling point for BlackBerry since its inception! BlackBerry 8110 Pearl is tagged with Blackberry, GPS device and e-mail....

BlackBerry Pearl 8110 review

We review the RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8110 - which brings the traditionally elegant Blackberry email experience to a candybar-sized smartphone

Great for mobile email ; Compact, candybar form factor ; GPS

Mediocre multimedia performance ; No Wi-Fi

Brings BlackBerry mobile email to a very small format smartphone and adds in the bonus of a GPS antenna

A small and pocketable smartphone for those keen on email

The SureType system takes a little getting used to, and the screen is a bit cramped for some tasks. No 3G

Vodafone RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8110 review

Clearly focused on the consumer market, the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 is a petite and good-looking smartphone. The Vodaphone version comes with Telmap navigation software and a special Facebook function.
