RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120

RIM is clearly trying to cater for its business base and its consumer following. Does the Pearl 8120 satisfy both camps?

With the Pearl 8120, RIM is clearly trying to push further into the consumer's consciousness and retain its business fans too. The device doesn't go far enough to capture all consumers - where's the 3G and the oodles of internal memory, for example?...

Blackberry 8120 Pearl review

The original slimline Pearl got the famously stuffy BlackBerry accepted by the mainstream. But can its successor, the 8120, keep the dream alive?

The second-gen Pearl is a tasty emailer and has extra mainstream appeal, but we'd still like more toys and features

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 smartphone

The BlackBerry Pearl 2 has finally arrived, but are the improvements worth the bother? Research In Motion (RIM) gave Pocket-lint the new 8120 ahead of the launch to have a play and find out. The addition of Wi-Fi, the upgrade in digital camera quality...

Wi-Fi, video recording, spell check, 2 megapixel camera, external memory slot

No touchscreen, keyboard takes some getting used to

The addition of Wi-Fi, the upgrade in digital camera quality and adding of flash and video capabilities make this more consumer than ever.

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 review

Wi-Fi leads BlackBerry's consumer charge

Wi-Fi ; Handy Push email ; Business functions with consumer appeal

Small Screen ; Outdated interface ; No 3G

A bit old-fashioned in some ways, but more than capable of providing you with all that you'll need from a PDA

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 (AT&T) review

You knew it was just a matter of time before one of the GSM carriers got a hold of the next-gen RIM BlackBerry Pearl after Verizon Wireless released the RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8130 . And that lucky carrier would be AT&T . Today, AT&T introduced the RIM...

The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 for AT&T brings Wi-Fi to the slim smartphone, along with an improved Web browser and a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. The handset also has integrated Bluetooth, strong e-mail capabilities, and solid...

The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 lacks 3G support and GPS. The SureType keyboard still requires a learning curve, and there was a slight background hiss during phone calls.

The addition of Wi-Fi and other enhancements make the RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 a nice upgrade, but we couldn't help wanting a little more from the smartphone.

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 review

RIM's sleek-looking BlackBerry Pearl has been given a makeover, re-emerging as the much improved BlackBerry Pearl 8120.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8120 updates last year's model in all the right ways and offers more than enough wow without being too flash.

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 review

We review the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 to see if this Wi-Fi-enabled candybar phone is sassy enough to appeal to more than just business users

Compact ; Lightweight email-tastic BlackBerry

Cramped keyboard ; No touch screen browsing ; No GPS ; No 3G

The 8120 shrinks down all that’s good about BlackBerry into a candybar phone, and now you don’t have to have an onerous monthly contract to own one.

BlackBerry Pearl 8120 Review

There was a time when RIM had to take in lot of criticisms on the looks and the other functionalities of the original version of BlackBerry pearl. The only application that its users were satisfied was with the email application. The device was fairly...

Blackberry Pearl 8120 also has a 2 mega pixel camera which is a good upgrade from the original pearl which had only 1.3 mega pixel camera. The images were good even in the low-light areas. It does have flash. The RIM has put its multimedia features in...

BlackBerry 8120

The weapon of choice for most business people. But will this latest consumer version win over the public and shake-off the stuffy corporate image?

BlackBerry push email / small and light

Confusing keypad / small screen / poor camera

However, the BlackBerry is not just for business types, and RIM, the company that makes the device, has been plugging away for a few years now with versions aimed squarely at consumer users

RIM Blackberry Pearl 8120 Review

The Blackberry Peal 8120 is the update to the original Peal, which features a stylish design with plenty of business features for the modern working professional.

The Pearl 8120 will only appeal to business users, though RIM have managed to add a couple more consumer friendly touches, such as the 2MP camera/video and microSD card placement. Compared to the original Pearl the 8120 is a good improvement and ideal...
