Casio G'zOne Ravine review: Casio G'zOne Ravine

Casio G'zOne Ravine

The Casio G'zOne Ravine is a sturdy durable phone that is military-certified to take a beating. Features include outdoor-specific applications, EV-DO Rev. A, Push-to-Talk, GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera, and more.

The Casio G'zOne Ravine doesn't have external music player controls or a 3.5mm headset jack. Call quality was not as good as expected.

The Casio G'zOne Ravine is a great all-purpose phone for the outdoors enthusiast, but the mixed call quality is disappointing.

Casio G'zOne Ravine (Verizon Wireless)

On the outside, the white, backlit, 1.4-inch monochrome display features a huge, easy-to-read clock, and even displays graphics for some of the apps (more on that later). Inside, the 2.2-inch internal display sports 240-by-320-pixel resolution, and was...

Looks and feels great. Solid call quality. Long battery life. Versatile, outdoorsy apps. Extremely rugged

Dated music player

The Ravine is the ultimate rugged voice phone, virtually indestructible with great call quality and an impressive feature set. It still sounds great after you run it over with a car.

Rugged Verizon phone is aimed at outdoors enthusiasts

Casio's G'zOne Ravine is shock-proof, dust-proof, water-resistant and can withstand extreme temperatures. But what makes the G'zOne Ravine a "true phone for the outdoorsman," according to CNET's Nicole Lee, is a suite of applications called...

Rugged and durable, apps for outdoor activities, including compass, spacious keyboard with pronounced keys

Mixed call quality, non-standard headphone jack, limited web browser

Review: Casio G'zOne Ravine

The Casio G'zOne Ravine is a slick, thick and rugged phone that you can drop in a swamp or off of a moving Jeep. Is it up for adventure, or does it wear out quickly?
