LG KC550

LG's KC550 slider is on the chunky side, but then it does sport a 5-megapixel camera and a reasonable price.

LG KC550 review

Is a five megapixel cameraphone always a good bet?

Stylish looking design ; 5 megapixel camera ; Great music player and FM radio ; Motion sensor for games and gallery ; Better than average video capture

Cheap casing ; No 3G or Wi-Fi ; Quirky motion sensor accelerometer ; No 3.5mm headphone jack ; Pictures weren't as good as expected

A good looking but cheap feeling device with a better than average specified camera that doesn't really deliver on its promises

LG KC550 mobile phone

While the biggest and normally best phones are available to contract customers looking to sign up to 18-month contracts, when it comes to PAYG offerings the choice can be limited. LG are hoping to capitalise on this with the 5-megapixel KC550; but does...

Camera, simple, easy to use

No 3G, accelerometer games basic

With no 3G capabilities this isn't a phone for the web surfer, however it will offer you a simple-to-use phone with 5-megapixel camera and a few extra tricks to boot.

Five megapixel camphones were once premium gadgets, but LG's latest camphone claims to produce glorious photos for pittance

It’s no mobile A-lister, but the KC550 offers style and a good camera for not much money

LG KC550

The LG-KC550 is designed to easily capture fantastic moments that require a speedy reaction and its dedicated keys allow users to access the most frequently used camera functions with just one click.

Its Schneider-Kreuznach lens, autofocus, image stabiliser and macro features are great additions.

It lacks a Xenon flash which would have added nicely to its camera features.

LG - KC550

Phones at the leading edge are currently offering 8-megapixel cameras, but 5-megapixel ones are far from ubiquitous and arguably a better value for money proposition. If you want the quality and clarity that 8 megapixels offers ...

If you are on a budget and looking for a 5-megapixel cameraphone this could be your ideal handset. The TV-out is a bonus but you'll need to buy a cable to take advantage of it.

LG KC550 Mobile Phone

This is another in a growing band of phones with a 5mega pixel camera. While I doubt this will ever replace a digital camera for a photographer but, as everyone always seems to take their mobile phone with them it can be where a digital camera is not.

This phone certainly has a solid feel. It is 10x5x1.5 when closed and this increases by another 3.5cm when the screen is moved up to reveal the 12 key keypad. The phone weights 90grams. The screen on the KC550 is 4.9x3.8cm and is clear and easy to...

LG KC550 review

We review the LG KC550 - this entry-level, 5-megapixel camera phone looks good and has a nice price but can it deliver the goods?

5 megapixel camera ; FM radio ; microSD memory card slot

Chunky shape ; No 3G ; LED flash ; Quirky accelerometer

Classy-looking slider with a good camera but not much else
