Sandra tries out LG's 8-megapixel KC780 camera phone, but is she left wanting one?

LG KC780 review

An impressive cameraphone, but there's little else here to turn heads

8-megapixel camera ; Good-sized 2.4-inch display ; Good video recording features ; Great music player ; MicroSD card expansion ; Solid design and build ; Bluetooth webcam feature

No 3G or Wi-Fi connectivity ; Low spec browser ; Limited low-light imaging performance ; No 3.5mm headphone socket ; Average earphones supplied ; No touchscreen ; No GPS

Hot shot 8-megapixel cameraphone at a mid-range price but lacks higher-end features to match the snapper

LG KC780 mobile phone

There seems to be no shortage of options across LG's mobile phone range. The KC780 gives you an 8-megapixel camera like the KC910 Renoir, but combines it with a conventional slider handset so you don't have to deal with touchscreen if you don't want...

Good image capture in the right conditions, great keypad

Limited connectivity, boring design, button layout, screen quality, headphones poor, no 3.5mm jack

Overall the KC780 gives a good showing of itself as a budget handset, giving you the chance to capture reasonable images whilst out and about. There are a few quirks with controls of the camera, but navigation of menus and making calls presents no...

LG KC780

Is the Renoir's younger sibling a non-touchscreen force to be reckoned with?

8MP camera / Sleek finish / Generous screen

Average browser / No 3G or Wi-Fi / Sliding action could be smoother

The KC780 is quite a looker, passing that all-important pub table test. And it’s ideal for style-conscious individuals who’re into (but not addicted to) social networking, but also want an all-rounder with excellent call and texting ability and high...

LG KC780 review

LG's latest eight-megapixel camera phone, the LG KC780, is geared towards taking excellent photos of people for an affordable price…

LG succeeds in producing a great eight-megapixel camera for a reduced rate

Despite the eight-megapixel snapper, the LG KC780's feature list is fairly basic

If you're looking for an excellent camera phone but on a budget, then the LG KC780 could be the phone for you. Just don't expect a great deal else for your money.

LG KC780 review

We review the mid-range slider follow-up to the KC910 Renoir. Can this keep up with the same quality of camera as well as offer a good mobile experience?

8-megapixel camera ; Slim design ; Simple menu interface ; Cons ; No 3G ; Poor browsing experience

No 3G ; Poor browsing experience

With a top camera and budget price, the LG KC780 is a top slimline option

LG KC780 camera samples

The LG KC780 is among the first wave of 8-megapixel cameraphones arriving in the UK market, and is pitched as a more affordable alternative to higher-end models such as LG's own Renoir KC910, Samsung's Pixon M8800 and i8510, and Sony Ericsson's C905.

LG KC780 Review

Do you recall the times when VGA camera phones were the cream of the crop of what people could buy? Well, it´s been a while since then. The period has seen camera megapixels increase to as many as 8 now, the best you can get as of now. The thing is...
