LG Optimus V (Virgin Mobile) review

Editors' note: Since the Optimus V is so similar to the Optimus S, in this review we'll focus on what sets the Optimus V apart. For more design details, please read our LG Optimus S review .

The LG Optimus V is a slim and simple Android smartphone. It ships with Android 2.2 and features Wi-Fi, GPS, EV-DO Rev. A, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It is also affordable.

The LG Optimus V does not have hot-spot tethering, nor does it have Flash video in the browser.

The LG Optimus V is a great entry-level Android smartphone if you want to go the prepaid route.

LG Optimus V (Virgin Mobile)

The LG Optimus V is a dual-band EV-DO Rev 0 (850/1900 MHz) device with 802.11b/g Wi-Fi. Unlike the Optimus M on MetroPCS, the Optimus V can hit 3G data speeds. That's important for Web browsing, streaming audio, and other Internet-based apps. It...

Good mix of features and performance for the price. Excellent plan pricing. Responsive interface given the low-end processor

Screen is a little cramped for typing. Buggy proximity sensor

The LG Optimus V is a just-powerful-enough smartphone for Virgin Mobile that also saves you money every month.

LG Optimus V (Virgin Mobile) ? With Android 2.2 OS

LG Optimus V comes with Google features and apps like Google search bar along with voice search, Gmail, Google Calendar sync, YouTube, and Google Talk. This is a Virgin Mobile handset and hence you get plenty of third party apps from the service...

LG Optimus V Review

The LG Optimus V is the exclusive version of the Optimus line for Virgin Mobile. Similar to the Optimus S, U amd M, the V is a familiar addition for the Android community. This review covers the design, display, hardware, software, user interface and...

The LG Optimus V, like the rest of its brethren is a cheap but solid smartphone for entry level users. Coming in at a $149.99 price tag on Virgin Mobile with no contract, it's a competitively priced smartphone. For people using Virgin Mobile, the LG...

LG Optimus V Review [On the Go Android!]

Before we begin, let me direct you back to a review I conducted some months ago on a very similar telephone by the name of LG Optimus U. This is essentially the same piece of hardware with a slightly different set of apps, costing a different price and...

LG Optimus V Review by Sydney | PhoneDog

Times have changed people. There was once a time when a device with a 600 MHz processor, 3.2-inch HVGA display, and 3.2 megapixel camera was the best you could get. Now that's what we call a "mid-range" device. Some may even call that a low-end...

Excellent processor performance; Android 2.2; great price; 3G speeds using Sprint's network

3.2-inch display may be too small for some; inconsistent battery performance

If you are with Virgin Mobile and are shopping for a new smartphone, buy this phone.

"Will eventually have charging problems."

My Optimus after owned a year had a problem with only semi charging. Also often the phone would boot and when screen appeared the phone would turn off and had to be rebooted then turned off again. When the phone does this the back lights behind the...

Good performance.

Charging problems, touch screen too sensitive - phone often dials #s with phone in pocket.

"Insufficient memory, freezes often"

The default phone apps can't be removed, but they consume all of the meager 180MB on the phone. Adding a storage card would seem logical, but the space-consuming apps cannot be moved to the extra storage. Most of these are useless. Typing is horrible...

Inexpensive, GREAT pre-paid price. Good connection between Google accounts, great user interface.

Insufficient memory, freezes often

"Cheap Piece of Crap!"

Over all this phone is such a piece of garbage that it's not even worth the $80 on sale price at Best Buy I paid for it last December. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE LG OPTIMUS BRAND AT ALL! The Optimus' are completely lacking with not enough power, nor memory...

None This phones cons too far outweigh any pros it once had to them to stay valid.

Features aka Bloatware that hardly ever work right, not enough internal memory to run apps efficiently, constantly freezes, slow sms, slow internet (3G & Wifi), and fps is too slow.
