Motorola Moto E5 Plus

A great budget device

Fantastic battery life ; Good screen ; Comes with silicone case

Glass-impersonating plastic isn't convincing ; Price too close to the G6 Play

A great budget phone, although an upgrade to the better-performing Moto G6 Play is tempting.

Moto E5 Plus review

Motorola can only make so many great budget phones

Premium look at a glance ; Adequate performance ; A big, big battery

Feels cheaper than it looks ; Awkward market positioning ; Slow loading ; Non-US model downgraded

The Moto E5 Plus scores good marks for performance and battery, but limited purchasing options pit it against Motorola’s other budget contenders. Despite having a bigger screen, it lacks the increased resolution, upgraded processing power, and...

Motorola Moto E5 Plus review: A big budget beast

A bigger battery and a larger screen for not much more, the Moto E5 Plus is worth the extra cash over the Moto G6

Exceptional battery life ; Wallet-friendly price ; Cracking camera

Performance could be improved

So, forget about the Moto G6 Play and the regular Moto E5. The Moto E5 Plus is where it’s at at the bottom of the Motorola range. In fact, if battery life is at the tippy top of your smartphone agenda, there’s simply no better choice on a budget.

The Moto E5 Plus is great for your wallet

It's not even Moto's best cheap phone.

The Moto E5 Plus' battery outlasts the more expensive Moto G6, and it has a larger display.

Uncomfortably big for my hands, with a clunky design. It’s only available in the US on Sprint and Cricket, and prices vary wildly.

Buy the Moto E5 Plus if you're looking for a budget phone on Cricket. Otherwise, skip it in favor of a slightly pricier Moto G6 Play or Moto G6.

Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 Play hands-on review

The Moto E5 Play and Moto E5 Plus are good value, but the lack of future Android upgrades is disappointing.

Good-looking phones ; Solid performance ; Clean software ; Affordable

No Android version updates ; Some camera shutter lag

The best cheap phone you can buy in 2018

Most people aren't going to spend $1,000 on a phone.

Ludicrous battery life ; Few performance issues

Dull camera ; Slightly fuzzy screen

You can get a great phone for less than $300, but you have to choose correctly

Motorola Moto E5 Plus

The Motorola Moto E5 Plus is a hefty Sprint phablet with a massive 5,000mAh battery that can keep it going for days, but it's too expensive for the specs it offers.

Excellent battery life. Bright display. Solid overall performance. Minimal Android skin.

Overpriced. Hefty. Average camera.

The Moto E5 Plus has a lot going for it. It has a big bright screen, a massive battery, and generally solid performance. It's simply priced too high for what you get. For $200, we'd probably give this phone our Editors' Choice on Sprint. For nearly...

Moto E5 Plus and E5 Play are 2018's newest ultrabudget phones

These supercheap phones from Motorola still hold on to the headphone jack.

Motorola Moto E5 Plus Smartphone Review

Good price-to-performance ratio. The Motorola Moto E5 Plus combines its huge 5000-mAh battery with a low price. Moreover, it also features a large screen and a slick case. Read our review to learn whether the Moto E5 Plus is worth buying.

good cameras ; good battery life ; acceptable performance ; no overheating ; fast storage

slow Wi-Fi ; high black value ; dedicated microSD card slot

The Motorola Moto E5 Plus is a large smartphone with a very long-lasting battery, a big screen, enough performance and a slick design. It inherits the slow Wi-Fi from its predecessor, plus now it also comes with bloatware apps. The brightness of the...
