Motorola Moto G7 review: Is the standard model the one to buy?

The Moto G has long been one of our favourite budget smartphones, but with the G7 Plus model only £30 more does the standard G7 still have a place?

Great design at this price point - with large screen and minimal bezel (despite being same as the G7 Plus) ; Rear positioned fingerprint scanner makes best sense (better than front positioned before) ; Battery life breezes through a day ; Clean...

Same size and resolution as the G7 Plus model - which is simply confusing ; The Plus and Power phones are better prospects on either side ; Auto-brightness adjustment is over the top ; Dewdrop bezel can distract ; Honor Play is more powerful for same...

The Moto G7 is a great budget phone that improves over its predecessor. Its problem is the G7 Plus which is £30 more and delivers faster charging, optical stabilisation for its better cameras, and a minor bump in processor - making it the phone to buy...

Motorola Moto G7 review

Budget phone royalty gets an upgrade

Smart, classy design ; Big screen ; Decent camera

Not the best at the price for gaming ; Unusually chunky notch

The competition has heated up, but we’ll still recommend the Moto G7 to many in 2019

Motorola Moto G7 Play review

More proof, if any was needed, that Motorola knows a thing or two about bargain smartphones

Excellent all-rounder for the money ; Pure version of Android Pie ; USB-C charging

Only small changes compared to last year ; Limited memory

Small gains over last year's model, but the G7 Play does enough to make it one of the best sub-£200 handsets around

Motorola Moto G7 Play initial review: Affordable Android

The baby of the G7 family, the Play is the most affordable of the bunch

Moto G7 Play review

Pocket and wallet-friendly

Great battery life ; Runs Android 9 ; Front speaker

No case in the box ; Occasional gaming lag ; No NFC

Pocketable, affordable, zippy in day-to-day use - the Moto G7 Play may be a budget phone - and it isn’t built for gaming, despite its name - but it bears all the hallmarks of a four-star device. It delivers great battery life, gives you access to tons...

Moto G7 review

The return of the master budget phone

Well-built design ; Huge, clear display ; Great performance

No NFC on US version ; Camera lacks excitement ; Middle of the road battery life

At first glance, the Moto G7 looks like a much more expensive phone than it actually is. It may not offer top-end power or an incredible camera experience, but if you’re on the lookout for an affordable phone that works well and reliably, you’re sure...

Motorola Moto G7 review: The best budget phone just got even better

A $300 phone shouldn't be this good.

The Motorola Moto G7 has a slick contemporary design, a dewdrop notch display, decent dual rear cameras, turbo charging, solid battery life and a near-stock version of Android 9 Pie making it worth every penny.

The single speaker is merely serviceable, low-light photos and general video quality isn't fantastic and the phone costs $50 more than last year's Moto G6.

The Moto G7 is the best budget phone we've tried hands down.

Motorola Moto G7 review: The King no more?

Motorola is back, but a higher price and more competition mean the Moto G7 is no longer the king of budget phones

Great camera ; Slick design ; Big screen

The notch is ugly ; Battery life is disappointing

In the end, I don’t think the Moto G7 is going to be this year’s best budget smartphone and the reason lies elsewhere in the Moto G7 range. The Motorola Moto G7 Power has a huge 5,000mAh battery that lasts much longer than the G7’s, it has the same...

Motorola Moto G7 Play review: Motorola’s cheap and (almost) cheerful budget smartphone

The Moto G7 Play launched alongside three other Moto-branded smartphones, and it's the least impressive of the lot

Long battery life ; Great camera for the price ; Faster performance than competition

2GB of RAM is a hindrance

If funds are running low in the Christmas spending aftermath, and you’re in dire need of a smartphone upgrade as 2019 finds its footing, then the Moto G7 Play is a solid choice. Its specifications aren’t nearly as intriguing as the rest of the lineup,...

Motorola Moto G7 hands-on review: The budget smartphone champ returns

The Motorola Moto G6 was the best budget phone of 2018. Can the Moto G7 top it?

One disappointment, though, is that the launch price has jumped up a tad, from £220 to £239. That’s still great value for money, though. Then again, there’s now only a £30 difference between this phone (£239) and the superior Moto G7 Plus (£269), which...
