Nokia 5530 XpressMusic review

How does Nokia's budget touchscreen phone compare?

Low cost ; Easy to user interface ; Nice menu transitions ; On board stylus

Poor call quality and coverage ; Average camera ; No 3G on board ; Rattling keyguard slider

Overall, the price point of £130 for a touchscreen smartphone can't be beaten, and despite a few niggles it still performs very well.

Nokia's stripped down music smartphone has arrived to cheers from weary wallets. Is it a budget beauty?

Its touchscreen isn’t perfect, but this is a fine music phone for Symbian fans on a tight budget

Due to launch in early August, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has the LG Cookie and Samsung Tocco Lite firmly in its sights as it guns for the cheap touchscreen top spot. Can Nokia reclaim ground lost to its Korean rivals or is the recent shift towards LG...

Nokia 5530 review

We review the Nokia 5530, a touchscreen device that brings music to the masses

Good multimedia playback ; Surprisingly responsive display for a resistive screen ; Wi-Fi is an unexpected feature at this price point

In 2009, we don’t want to see a stylus making an appearance ; Small screen makes it harder to use more advanced applications ; Web browser disappoints - it desperately needs the improved version coming to the N97

The 5530 offers more features than the target market probably wants, and the small display size makes some features hard to use - but the high resolution means video playback is impressive. Coupled with a decent music player and expandable memory, you...

This - this is the point at which what Nokia in general (and OPK in particular) have been saying about Symbian OS taking over (from Series 40) in the mid-tier in the phone market comes home to roost. What we have here is a full-touchscreen S60 5th...
