Nokia E61i (AT&T) review

Back in February, Nokia unveiled three new additions to its E series of business-centric smart phones at the 3GSM World Congress. As with all of Nokia's supercool cell phones and smart phones , the U.S. availability of the models was up in the air, but...

The Nokia E61i features a roomier QWERTY keyboard and adds a 2-megapixel camera. The Symbian smart phone offers integrated Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and robust e-mail options. In addition, the Quickoffice and Nokia Team Office suites are handy tools for the...

The E61i doesn't support U.S. 3G bands or the A2DP Bluetooth profile. The phone's speaker is on the weaker side, and the camera isn't the greatest. The handset is also pricey without the backing of a U.S. carrier.

The Nokia E61i isn't a major upgrade, bringing some minor design improvements and the addition of a camera, but it still remains a powerful smart phone for business users; just be prepared to pay a price.

This revamped version of the E61 smartphone addresses many of the inherent problems of the original. Little things like slightly larger keys have a massive positive impact on usability, while the software functionality will give devices like the Apple...

Nokia E61i review: Lens-wear for the messenger

You all know Nokia E61 – it's been among the most popular Nokia smartphones ever since it was presented. Its fans have always been divided over it not having a camera. Taking that into account Nokia decided to release an updated version of the handset...

Nokia E61i

Howdy, big boy! At 4.6 x 2.8 x 0.6 inches, the E61i dwarfs most handsets. Luckily, you won't care: Its roomy 2.8-inch screen and comfy keyboard make excellent

Handy thumbnail-driven history viewer in browser. Streams Flash and other videos. Nice collection of business and media apps, including a project team manager and RealPlayer. Almost 11 hours of talk time

So wide it barely feels like a phone. Accessing the microSD slot requires removing backplate. No stereo Bluetooth. Proprietary headphone jack

Nokia E61i

Oddly, the E61i also works over 3G data networks, just not ours. It supports only UMTS, not HSDPA, and only on the overseas 2,100-MHz band. That means the otherwise high-flying E61i still kicks it down to EDGE speeds when used Stateside.

Sleek enclosure with comfortable keyboard. Built-in Wi-Fi. Great Web browser. Long battery life

Only supports high-speed UMTS overseas. No stereo Bluetooth support or built-in GPS

Nokia ups the ante with a welcome refresh to last year's well-liked E62 smartphone.

Nokia E61i

Nokia's successor to the E61 boasts a slimmer side profile and a 2-megapixel shooter.

2-megapixel camera. Easy to use QWERTY keyboard. Big, bright display. Excellent connectivity options.

Some navigation keys feel cramped. No HSDPA. Quite large.

With the addition of a 2-megapixel camera and e-mail shortcuts, the E61i is a formidable work tool for business users and travellers.
