Nokia E73 Mode review

We review the Nokia E73 Mode, T-Mobile's version of the popular Nokia E72 smartphone

Thin, light, capable and inexpensive -- a quadruple threat ; Free GPS navigation for life is great ; Big, beefy battery

Needs to play nicer with popular services ; Display is a bit small for some functions

The Nokia E73 Mode is a great addition for T-Mobile, and should fair well with the business crowd -- if T-Mobile markets it well. It's easily one of the best QWERTY-equipped smartphones in the T-Mobile lineup and at $70, it's a steal.

Nokia E73 Mode review

Some two years after its release, there are still plenty of people who'll swear up and down that the E71 is the finest phone Nokia has ever produced -- and for good reason. As a platform, S60 was the product of a simpler time when the smartphone market...

Gorgeous hardware ; Free turn-by-turn navigation ; Good value

Outdated UI ; Bad browser performance ; Optical pad not great

Nokia E73 Mode Cell Phone - T-Mobile Phone Review - PCWorld

The BlackBerry Bold almost lives up to its name with a stunning design, but its mediocre call quality and camera hold it back

Review: Nokia E73 Mode

It's been almost two years since we called the E71 an iPhone killer. The successor to that hype, the E73, doesn't get that title.

Exceptionally portable, with outstanding build quality. Unparalleled battery life. Quite the bargain. Easily one of the best Symbian handsets on the market

Symbian OS is getting increasingly dated compared to its rivals, especially in ease of navigation. Touchpad design is poor. Crummy screen resolution

Nokia E73 Mode (T-Mobile)

The affordable, great-looking Nokia E73 is perfect for messaging, though it's short on major-label apps.

Beautiful design. Great for messaging. Wi-Fi calling. Free GPS nav software.

Small, low-res screen. So-so camera. Not enough apps.

Multimedia and Conclusions The E73 is a very good music player, and not quite as good a video player. The 218MB of free memory can be enhanced with a MicroSD card slipped into a side slot; a 4GB card came with our unit, but a Kingston 16GB card also...

Nokia E73 Mode (T-Mobile) review: Nokia E73 Mode (T-Mobile)

Nokia and T-Mobile are proving to be quite a pair when it comes to delivering smartphones at an affordable price. First, there was the Nokia Nuron and now there's the Nokia E73 Mode. The E73 Mode is a QWERTY messaging smartphone that will be available...

The Nokia E73 Mode features a sleek, sexy design and an excellent QWERTY keyboard. It offers great messaging capabilities and the full range of wireless options. Ovi Maps provides free turn-by-turn navigation.

User interface is a bit clunky. Smartphone can be sluggish, and onboard memory was an issue. The E73 has a lower-resolution display than others.

The Nokia E73 Mode is an outstanding value, offering T-Mobile customers a sleek and feature-packed messaging smartphone for a very affordable price.

This review of the Nokia E73 mode takes a look at the design and general look and feel of this full QWERTY Nokia E-series business phone and highlights what the Nokia E73 mode's physical hardware design has to offer.

All-in-all the Nokia E73 Mode is a great phone for the business oriented user. There is not much that can be said against the Nokia E73 Mode. It surpasses its cousin, the Nokia E71, and with the upgrade to the operating system it keeps up with the...

What's Good: Build quality is fantastic for a mid-range smartphone; front-facing camera (though video calling isn't supported); excellent reception and battery life. What's Bad: Symbian is long in the tooth and isn't as media-centric as its competitors.

When compared to the recently launched Samsung Vibrant or other competitors like the HTC EVO 4G, iPhone 4, or Motorola DROID X, the E73 can't compete. But it doesn't have to. In reality, the device (and its $69.99 price tag) is targeted at the low-end,...
