Nokia X3

The X3 is Nokia's latest budget music phone. Niall takes a listen.

Nokia X3 review

Compact and media-centric for under £100

Good quality music player software ; Decent in-ear bud earphones ; 3.5mm headphone socket ; 2GB MicroSD card supplied in-box ; Simple interface and email set-up

Lacklustre call performance ; Lack of 3G or Wi-Fi ; Mediocre camera performance ; No GPS for Maps software ; Low-grade video capture

The Nokia X3 is a slim, budget offering from the Finns. With no touchscreen and modest memory, it still has pretensions of being an attractive music device with a low cost to boot.

Nokia X3 review

The Nokia X3's price-tag proves that it is indeed an all-out feature phone, one that focuses on one or two features in order to keep its price low. In the X3's case, the feature happens to be music playback. However, that doesn't mean that the X3 has...

A good and inexpensive phone for listening to music, the Nokia X3's lack of a touchscreen means it falls behind similarly priced rivals. Concerns about the screen aside there's nothing wrong with the X3, and if you prefer a slider phone with hardware...

Nokia X3 Review

The pint-sized version of the Nokia X6, the X3 handset comes without music but will set you back less as well. It's a dinky little slide phone with a very masculine look. But with the X6 failing to impress…

Nokia X3-02 Review

A good basic handset with an added twist - a touch-screen for intuitive navigation

Neat, well priced handset with a good-looking design. The combination of keypad and touch-screen offers an ergonomic system of operation

Lack of GPS and poor snapper results. The display could be better

Easy and intuitive to use, the Nokia X3-02 proves itself an amenable, but basic handset. However, if Nokia had seen fit to include a higher resolution display and on-board GPS it would have made what is a solid effort a very solid success.

Nokia X3 Touch and Type review

A great entry-level handset, but the Nokia C5 is still king of cheap candybars

Proper keyboard, touchscreen ease of use, small and lightweight

Keyboard takes some getting used to

Nokia X3 review -

Can download more apps at Ovi Store, bundled in-ear headphones, includes one year subscription to Comes With Music, home screen customisable with widgets and notifications

No 3G or Wi-Fi, audio quality lacks richness, small selection of apps at Ovi

Nokia X3 sliderphone

Versatile, music-centric handset for the cost-conscious.

The Nokia X3 is not a world-beating phone. It's not the future and it won't stun anyone with its feature set, especially the average camera and lack of 3G browsing speeds. What it is though is a solid, music-based workhorse of a phone that does what it...

Nokia - X3

Nokia currently has two X series music phones in its portfolio, the X6 and the X3. They are aimed at very different markets. The X6 is a high end handset, and to emphasise the point it ...

Music on a budget is the order of the day with the Nokia X3, and while much of what is on offer here matches the relatively low price of the handset, suspect call quality and poor viewing angles on the screen make us think we might steer clear.
