Samsung's desire to bring out as many mid-range phones as possible continues as the Galaxy A51 joins the Galaxy A71 and the Lite versions.

Samsung Galaxy A51 review: A mid-ranger with plenty of polish

The Galaxy S51 is a mid-range Samsung phone bringing with it some real highlights. But is this the next Galaxy phone for you?

Great display ; High quality looks ; Good main camera performance in most conditions ; Solid battery life ; Under display fingerprint scanner

Lacks overall power ; Some lag in usage ; Single speaker limited ; Easy to block Bluetooth antenna and cause cut-out ; Quad cameras oversell themselves a little

A great design and screen are the big sells of this mid-ranger, which performs generally well but can struggle a little when it comes to gaming tasks. Otherwise the clean software experience makes for a generally polished and affordable choice.

Samsung Galaxy A51 review

Fully featured, at a nice price

Gorgeous, punchy AMOLED screen ; Snazzy design ; Full One UI 2.0 experience

Stuttery at times ; Average battery life ; Photo results mixed

Others may offer stronger performance, battery life and camera results, but the Galaxy A51 is bursting with great features and excels for movies and music

Samsung Galaxy A51 review: A minor change to the mid-range

Small improvements and subtle tweaks over its predecessor but the Galaxy A51 is still incredible value

Astonishing value for money ; 48MP camera for less ; Massive Super AMOLED screen

Slightly shorter battery life than Galaxy A50 ; Cheaper alternatives in Xiaomi

Barely setting a foot wrong, and expertly navigating that fine line between affordability and top-spec features, Samsung’s mid-range options continue to be a recipe for success. If it’s a Samsung phone you want, there’s no need to spend more than a...

Samsung announces mid-range Galaxy A51 and A71 handsets

The Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 join a veritable crowd of existing Galaxy A smartphones

So far, we don’t know exactly when these handsets will launch, or indeed how much they will cost. At launch, their predecessors the A50 and A70 cost £309 and £329 respectively, which means that we’re looking at a pair of very competitively priced,...

Samsung Galaxy A51 Review

The Samsung Galaxy A51 impresses in almost every way from a specs perspective. The only major disappointment is its plastic build, but for the price that's not a huge issue.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 is one of a growing range of competent mid-rangers from the brand. While it isn’t the most exciting of phones and is arguably topped by the likes of the Honor 20, it’s a solid all-rounder, with the headline features being its big...

Samsung Galaxy A51 review: Wait for a price drop

Samsung's Galaxy A51 packs a great screen, a handful of cameras, and a big battery -- what more could you ask from a mid-range smartphone? Well, more consistent performance, for one. Despite using a reasonably powerful chipset, the A51 is often plagued...

Excellent design ; Big and beautiful AMOLED screen ; Flexible multi-camera system

Laggy performance ; Camera quality is largely unremarkable ; Mediocre battery life

Sure, the Pixel 3a XL and the iPhone SE lack the A51’s panache, but they’re just nicer to use . And hey -- if you’re really itching for a Samsung phone and have some latitude in your budget, the slightly more powerful Galaxy A71 might be a better...

Samsung Galaxy A51 Review

Excellent display ; Solid cameras ; Good battery life

Underwhelming performance ; Not waterproof ; Fingerprint sensor doesn’t work well

At $400, Samsung's Galaxy A51 has a gorgeous display, good cameras, and a battery that will easily get you through the day, but it can use a boost in the processor department.

Samsung Galaxy A51 Review

The Samsung Galaxy A51 is the successor to the hugely popular Galaxy A50 and it brings a more modern design with slim bezels, plus it comes with four cameras on the back, including an improved, 48-megapixel main shooter that can now record 4K video...

Beautiful AMOLED screen; Long-lasting battery life; Elegant thin design

Stuttery performance with slightly more challenging tasks; Mediocre camera
