Samsung Galaxy Fame

Samsung's 3.5-inch budget smartphone is a serious disappointment

Pleasing 5-megapixel camera, Solid construction, Android 4.1 with Samsung TouchWiz UI

Dire 3.5-inch display, Expensive for specs on offer, Fails to match up with rival devices

Samsung Galaxy Fame review

Get ready young'uns - it's got NFC too

Small dimensions ; Cheaper price ; NFC support

Difficult texting ; Low-res screen ; Poor camera for 5MP

The Samsung Galaxy Fame is a small, cheap phone aimed at younger users who want to connect to Facebook, and for those users it's fine. It struggles with anything more substantial, though, and the screen and camera are both pretty poor.

Samsung Galaxy Fame review

That's cheap, but is the Galaxy Fame good value in a world in which you can purchase the Moto E and Lumia 520 for less than £100? Let's find out. (See all Android phone reviews.) Our review sample was provided by GSM Nation.

There's nothing wrong with a cheap, functional smartphone, and the Galaxy Fame is exactly that. The trouble is that even at this price the Fame is being squeezed out by much better phones that cost roughly the same amount. Windows-toting Lumia 520 is a...

Samsung Galaxy Fame review

  (Rating Hidden)

The Samsung Galaxy Fame is a small, budget smartphone. It cost just £110 on a pay-as-you-go deal but lacks the advanced features found on more expensive models. We sent it to our lab to see if its single-core processor and low resolution display are up...

Samsung Galaxy Fame Hands-On Review: Reasonable performance

Samsung obviously gets a lot of press regarding its flagship smartphones but the company has long provided consumers with cheaper alternatives that still have some nice features and reasonable specs. Today we are looking at the Samsung Galaxy Fame in a...

Samsung Galaxy Fame review

The more expensive of the two handsets at the bottom ofSamsung's Galaxy range comes with a mix of low and midrange Androidfeatures, but there isn't a clear differentiation between the Fameand its rival, the Galaxy Young.

Good range of Android features, good camera for the price

Performance not great

The Samsung Galaxy Fame comes out just ahead of its nearest rivalthe Galaxy Young because of its superior camera. But while itsprocessor appeared better on paper, in practise the lack of RAMheld it back and the larger screen actually has a slightly...

Samsung Galaxy Fame Review

Samsung's Galaxy Fame doesn't really offer enough for the price. The small display is low-res, and performance is disappointing. Battery life is mediocre – and there are better handsets out there for the money.

Decent outdoor shots from snapper; Compact design; support for NFC.

Laggy performance; Low-res small screen; Keyboard gripes.

The Samsung Galaxy Fame doesn’t offer enough for the price tag. Performance is rather slow, the small display is low-res and battery life is mediocre. However, you’ll get more for your money from the likes of the Huawei Ascend G510 and LG Optimus L5 II.

Samsung Galaxy Fame

It's ironic that the Samsung Galaxy Fame has been entirely overlooked because of its bigger brother, the Samsung Galaxy S4, but overlook it at your peril: it's one of the best small-screen Android phones out there right now. With a 3.5-inch display -...

If you’re fed up with the all the hype about super charged phones with even bigger screens, and you’re sure an iPhone isn’t for you, the Samsung Galaxy Fame might well be the best pick out there. Sure, it’s not as high spec as the Sony Xperia U, but...
