Samsung Gusto 2 (Verizon Wireless)

The Samsung Gusto 2 is a good, simple voice phone for Verizon Wireless, but it really should be free.

Good voice quality. Easy to use. Good battery life.

Poor camera. No music or video players. Low screen resolution.

Apps, Multimedia, and Conclusions The first time you turn on the phone, you're presented with a number of personalization options, including call sounds, clocks, display themes, font size, and menu layout. This is a nice touch, and one that clues you...

Samsung Gusto 2 (Verizon Wireless) review

If you're a simple cell phone, there are three necessary qualities for achieving greatness in your class: a sturdy, comfortable design; easy navigation; and great call quality. The original Samsung Gusto crashed and burned on all three counts....

The Samsung Gusto 2's solid, compact design looks and feels good, and call quality was excellent on both sides of the line. Additional accessibility features are a bonus.

The Gusto 2's subpar resolution is out-of-date, there's a smaller-than-standard headset jack, and some people may find the convenience keys hard to press.

Verizon customers looking for a simple phone will appreciate the Samsung Gusto 2's emphasis on call quality and comfort, despite a few minor flaws.

"Excellent Basic Phone"

will keep the samsung gusto 2 for as long as i can had android phones before but no thanks tired of the freeze up and taking out the battery on android, as for me the basic samsung gusto 2 is all i need something that works when i need it.

love the battery life, and the strong signal the samsung gusto 2 is the best phone for me, durable every function works great like it suppose to and the talking on the samsung gusto2 is excellent have not had no trouble hearing loud and clear.

"Great Basic Phone"

It's a great basic phone. Call quality is a little better than average. It's cheap. It doesn't feel all that heavy or built well but more so than the last phone I had. As well as that the coating on it helps keep you from dropping it. I've only dropped...

Battery Life, Surface is a bit of a matte coating so it's less likely to drop, small size, never freezes or has other issues like that

Camera is a let down, text message slot is limited to 250 messages (I don't understand why when there is so much storage left on the phone)

"Fixed all of my problems with the first phone"

I got this phone brand new for my grandfather, I'd previously tried a Gusto1 for a backup phone and hated the d*m* thing. I dropped calls constantly, keys pressed on their own, cameras never opened. This phone was a pleasant surprise however. The keys...

This phone is all pros

The battery door is a little hard to get off at times, but besides that I'm happy.

"Better-than-average basic phone, but with a few flaws."

I bought this phone only because it was on sale for a penny less than the amount of airtime it came with, so as a free phone it was a no-risk proposition. I found that as basic clamshell phones for prepaid customers go it's probably the best value...

Call quality, camera, and overall look / feel are all vast improvements over the original Samsung Gusto. Demo games are easily deletable. The fake call feature is an absolute godsend.

Terrible main screen resolution. Uncovered charging port can collect dust. Headphone jack smaller than standard. Dimwitted placement of the loudspeaker button means it will often be activated by left-handed users when closing the phone.
