Samsung SGH-i200 Smartphone

Samsung claims the i200 is the slimmest Windows Mobile on the market, but do good things come in small packages?

but unfortunately it turns out to be a bog standard four-way D-pad with a selector button in the middle. These are joined by a volume rocker switch on the left-hand-side and a dedicated camera button on the right.

Samsung SGH-i200 review

A modestly specced smartphone, but a well-made one at that

Microsoft Office comes pre-installed ; Robust build ; HSDPA connectivity

Small screen ; Fiddly keypad

Some nice features ensure that this mid-range smartphone can still stand up to the competition despite its usability issues

Samsung i200

This phone will do if you need a workhorse, but not if you want some excitement from your smartphone.

The tall size means there is space for a large number pad and screen, and we like the 3G.

No touch-screen, no Wi-Fi and short on exciting extras.

Samsung SGH-i200 review

Samsung is all over the place when it comes to mobile phones. And we mean that in a nice way. Ultra consumer-focussed handsets like the Tocco F480 and Soul U900 sit alongside a competent range of phones with a more professional user in mind.

Samsung i200

A smartphone without the extra weight.

Slim design, Wizpro home screen interface, control and keypad layout, HSDPA capable

No Wi-Fi, no GPS, mediocre camera, little extra software included, proprietary headphone/charging jack

Samsung certainly deserves credit for the i200's design. This smartphone is compact and easy to use, but the lack of Wi-Fi and GPS will force many users to look elsewhere. Overall, the i200 is a credible but certainly not inspiring handset.

Samsung bring Windows Mobile to those who have an aversion to qwerty and a love of slim.
