Samsung SPH-M370 - pewter gray (Sprint) review

The quintessential flip phone needs two things: excellent call quality and large, easy-to-press buttons. Happily, Samsung's SPH-M370 for Sprint can check off both boxes. What you see is what you get with the simple, straightforward features and design;...

The Samsung SPH-M370 has a familiar design, large, comfortable buttons, and strong call quality.

It's pretty bare-bones; a microSD card slot or music player on the M370 would be nice. You can't change the phone's text style or size, and the address book is relatively small.

The comfortable Samsung SPH-M370 is a basic flip phone that does what it says, unadorned and unembellished, and at the right price.

Samsung Mantra SPH-M340 (Virgin Mobile)

If you want a simple prepaid phone for making voice calls, the Samsung Mantra SPH-M340 will do well, but if you want to do anything else, keep looking.

Simple. Cheap. Inexpensive prepaid plans.

Very poor camera. Tiny external display. No music, video, or camcorder.

Features, Camera, and Conclusions The main menu consists of nine large icons arranged in a grid. There are links to your contacts, messaging, the Web, and a number of other basic functions. All of the usual low-end phone apps are in place as well,...

Samsung SPH-M360 - blue (Sprint) review

Samsung's Galaxy S series has won the manufacturer a lot of attention over the past few months, but Sammy hasn't ignored the basic phone market. Just take its new SPH-M360 for Sprint. Armed with satisfying call quality, a bright display, and a...

The Samsung SPH-M360 has a simple design with a bright display and easy-to-use controls. Call quality is satisfying, and the functional feature set includes voice dialing.

The Samsung SPH-M360's speakerphone audio can get somewhat distorted, and the handset picks up wind noise. The camera is just average.

The Samsung SPH-M360 is a great option for anyone who wants an easy-to-use phone for making calls. Accessibility options round out the basic feature set.

Samsung Highnote SPH-M630

Sprint's Samsung Highnote doesn't excel with music, but it offers some interesting features for drivers.

Large, powerful speakerphone. Several helpful features for driving including GPS. Fun home-screen interface.

Dismal music software. Poor Web browser. Choppy streaming music quality.

Samsung Jitterbug Dial - SPH-A120 (Great Call) review

Jitterbug Dial

The Jitterbug Dial is very user-friendly, with a bright display, large and tactile keypad, and many of the same characteristics as a landline cordless phone. You can have the phone pre-installed with contacts, and if you want, you can use the operator...

The Jitterbug Dial is rather bulky. The volume rocker is in an awkward position. Voice dialing sometimes takes a few tries before it works.

The Jitterbug Dial is the perfect phone for the elderly or those with poor eyesight.

Samsung SPH-M510 review: Samsung SPH-M510

Samsung SPH-M510

The Samsung SPH-M510 offers a well-rounded feature set including Bluetooth, a speakerphone, and EV-DO support. Multimedia performance is good, too.

The Samsung SPH-M510 has a flat, hard-to-use keypad and average voice quality. It also lacks external music controls.

The Samsung SPH-M510 wins some points on the style factor, but its voice quality doesn't quite back up its feature set or multimedia performance.

Samsung Exclaim SPH-M550 Review

While not unique, the dual sliding Samsung Exclaim SPH-M550 is certainly a rarity in today's market. Slotted to replace the Rant, the Exclaim has a similar feature set but the dual slide design allows for a screen that's a full half inch larger...
