Sony Ericsson T303

The T303 is Sony Ericsson's take on an entry-level phone, but is it any good?

Sony Ericsson T303

Sony Ericsson is releasing high-end handsets en masse, with the 8-megapixel C905 and W902 Walkman handset hitting the shelves. The T303 takes a different approach, focusing on the budget, fashion market. The dinky slider is just 83 x 47 x 14.7mm, which...

A solid, attractive design

No remarkable features to shout about

For the most important functions of a mobile phone, the T303 is prime. Call quality is loud and clear and although keys are a little small, it’s easier to text on the T303 than it is on other low-end devices. Serious omissions including a full version...

Sony Ericsson T303 review

A phone for the more budget-conscious, if you don't mind skipping on spec

Metal cased compact slider design ; Budget price ; FM radio ; Mirrored front ; Loud speaker volume ; Easy to use menus

Basic 1.3-megapixel camera with no flash or autofocus Music player extremely restricted - only 8MB of internal memory ; No memory card expansion ; No video capture facilities ; Display small with low resolution ; No 3G ; Basic set of features

Sony Ericsson T303 review

The Sony Ericsson T303 is high on looks, but low on features, yet comes with an attractive price tag…

It looks great, is well built and has an excellent battery life

The camera is very basic, screen resolution is low and the onboard memory is small, at just 8MB

A perfectly decent low-end handset, it doesn't offer much in terms of features, but it looks great

An Everyday Type of Mobile Phone : Sony Ericsson,T303

Not everybody wants a mobile phone with all the bells & whistles – sometimes basic simplicity is all you need.

The T303 is a Sony Ericsson slider phone. This particular model is available in either Shadow Black or, as in the case of the review sample, Shimmering Silver. The phone’s dimensions are 83 x 47 x 15mm (L x W x D) when closed while its weight is 93g....

Sony Ericsson T303 review

We review the Sony Ericsson T303, a budget-priced slider that offers affordable style in a compact metal casing

Attractive, compact design ; Metal casing with mirrored front ; FM radio with earphones supplied ; Camera

Basic set of features ; Poor quality 1.3-megapixel camera, no video capture ; Only 8MB memory with no memory card expansion ; Small display ; No 3G

Aimed at the younger entry-level phone buyer - an attractively styled, compact phone but with a very limited set of features

Sony Ericsson T303 review: Small is beautiful

A sexy minimalist slider, Sony Ericsson T303 gives the low-end a new edge with looks and construction well above its rank. Even if not a full-house in terms of skill and style, the basic multimedia coverage and solid feel in hand are well worth it....

Very compact, sturdy build ; Smooth sliding mechanism ; FM radio with RDS ; MP3 player, TrackID music recognition ; Bluetooth v2.0 ; 1.3 MP camera ; 1.8" 65K-color TFT display, 128 x 160 pixels ; 500 phonebook entries, photocall

Meager 8MB of built-in memory, no memory card slot ; Poor screen quality ; USB for charging and mass storage only ; No zoom in picture gallery ; No A2DP Bluetooth profile

Its excellent build quality and solid feel in hand are strong advantages, considering how low-end phones usually suffer in both design and quality of materials used

Sony Ericsson T303

As far as small phones go, the T303 is solid and attractive. Unfortunately it lacks features such as an expandable memory slot and 3G network compatibility.

Small design ; Solid build quality

Keypad is cramped ; Screen is small with low resolution ; Not much memory and you can't expand it

Conclusion If you're looking for something small then it might be the phone for you. The build quality is high and with a few more features and a slightly better keypad this could have achieved a much higher mark. Still, we're disappointed with the...
