Sony Ericsson W595 review

Sony Ericsson proves there's more to Walkman than mobile music

HSDPA ; Excellent Walkman music player ; Good quality earphones ; 2GB memory card supplied ; YouTube application ; 3.2-megapixel camera ; Excellent build quality and smart design ; Added social networking apps on some models ; Loud loudspeaker ; Good...

Camera quality is limited ; No Wi-Fi ; No smartphone operating system ; Awkward back panel battery casing ; Difficult to access memory card ; 3.5mm socket is on earphone adapter rather than on body

A well made and stylish Walkman phone that most people would be more than happy to find in their stocking come Christmas morning

Sony Ericsson W595 mobile phone

Yet another Walkman handset, but can this one stand out from the plethora of others available from Sony Ericsson? We get dialling to find out. Sitting in the mid-range, the W595 Walkman features a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, includes Bluetooth, a...

YouTube upload feature, music player, paint pot theme, HSDPA

Doesn't do much else beyond music or video, better options out there

Get past the music and video features and the phone is rather basic. Great if that's all you want. The YouTube upload feature is so incredibly easy that if that's your thing this should be the phone for you. However if you are looking for more, whether...

Sony Ericsson W595 : Sony Ericsson W595 mobile phone

When the choice of colours is Lava Black, Jungle Grey, Cosmopolitan White or Active Blue, then you should have a fairly good idea that the subject mater will be a Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

In this case the phone belongs to the Walkman series and bears the W595 designation. The combination of the Active blue colouring with silver trimmings and slopping curves at the top and bottom of the unit give this handset a stylish appearance.

Sony Ericsson - W595

Sony Ericsson doesn't always get the design of its mobiles right. Most significantly, buttons can be too small and fiddly for the average finger to get to grips with. And then there is the ridiculous shake ...

Sony Ericsson proves it can do good design with this handset and it is a very neat mid-range option. Just don't expect perfect photos every time, or that the headphones will slip into the tiniest of pockets.

Sony Ericsson W595

Share your favourite sounds through the built-in stereo speakers or let a friend listen in from an additional headset via the stereo Share jack. The W595 is all about music featuring shake control technology.

The W595 offers good sound quality and decent camera.

It has no camera flash and the phone lacks a 3.5 mm jack.

The 3.2-megapixel camera left us with rather unbalanced shots, and the lack of zoom was frustrating.

The YouTube uploading application is a real plus point, but apart from that there is nothing groundbreaking here
