The Sony W960i seems to get better the longer you use it, at first the interface will seem a struggle and the performance issues off putting, but we believe the latter could be resolved with a Firmware update. As it is the sheer amount of storage...

Sony Ericsson W960i

Sony Ericsson makes a point of creating phones for pretty much every demographic, from cheap and cheerful handsets like the recently announced T280 to advanced smartphones like the P1i, including Cyber-shot models for the camera buffs and Walkman...

Great 3.2 megapixel camera with good editing features, Useful 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, Generous 8GB internal storage, Simple touchscreen interface

Occasionally slow operation, Awkward to navigate, Battery life isn't great, No memory card expansion

The top-of-the-range Walkman is certainly packed with features, it's just a shame it isn't a bit easier to use

Sony Ericsson W960i review

Sony Ericsson has cross-bred its Walkman range with a smartphone, and added a UIQ-powered touchscreen. Does the combination work?

8GB of built - in memory ; 3G ; Wi-Fi ; Bluetooth stereo

Complicated user interface ; Frustrating touchscreen

The W910i boasts some fab features but overall fails to deliver a good user experience

sony ericsson w960i

The W960i is a decent enough 3G music smartphone. There's plenty of storage (8 GB), Wi-Fi, 3G, good music player and a 2.6-inch touchscreen. The phone does take a while to boot up and the interface could do with some usability improvements.

3G, Walkman player, 8 GB Phone Memory, Symbian OS 9.1

Touchscreen is a little fiddly to use, No 3.5 mm jack, Tri-band only

Sony Ericsson W950i

The W950i is the biggest, baddest, phattest Walkman phone ever and it's set to be the music phone in everyone's pockets.…

Once again the Walkman player is a dream to use and sounds sweet to the ears

The central touch-screen operation may be a nuisance if you're coming from a standard phone perspective. Its keypad is also a thorny customer

Major phone usability issues effect what would have been Sony Ericsson's greatest Walkman phone.

Going For A Song - Sony Ericsson W950i Review

A great size and a Walkman too but has convergence stopped too soon for Sony's Walkman phone. Our man for mobiles puts the W950i through its paces to see if this handset is singing from the right hymnbook.
