Sony Ericsson Satio U1i

Sony's top of the range Satio U1i has a 12.1-megapixel camera and full touchscreen interface.

A volume rocker that doubles as the digital zoom for the camera kicks things off on the right edge and alongside it sit buttons for toggling between the image viewer and video/stills modes in the camera. The camera app starter/shutter button, which is...

Sony Ericsson Satio

Sony Ericsson has always had different streams for its phones that focus on one key element in attempt to win over any competition. There was the Walkman range for music and the Cyber-shot offering for photographers, but can the two merge successfully?...

Interface, sluggish, design, pretty much everything

Yes the Sony Ericsson Satio takes a great picture, but a phone isn't just a camera, it has to do so much more than that and that's something Sony Ericsson has forgotten.

Sony Ericsson Satio review

Is the 12.1MP behemoth worthy of the year-long hype?

Great camera ; Good range of media options ; Nice chassis ; Clear and simple RSS reader

Poor battery life ; No 3.5mm jack ; Slightly unresponsive touchscreen ; Internet browser not powerful ; OS is laggy at times

A good media device that doesn't quite beat the likes of the Samsung i8910HD in terms of overall performance

Sony Ericsson Satio Review

Sony Ericsson is outstanding when it comes to camera phones, music phones and phones with FM radios. Since this latest smartphone has all these plus GPS, wi-fi and more, it should be a real winner, right?…

Sony Ericsson Satio review

On paper, the Sony Ericsson Satio smartphone certainly looks impressive - with its whopping 12.1Mp camera with Xenon flash, a large 3.5in touchscreen display and an interface that uses standby panels on the home screen to access commonly used...

The Sony Ericsson Satio is a solid mobile phone with a 12.1 megapixel camera and large touchscreen. You can use finger swipe shortcuts on the home screen, and there's an excellent multimedia menu as well as GPS and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the lack of a...

Sony Ericsson Satio cameraphone review

The Sony Ericsson Satio is a high-spec cameraphone, with an impressive 12.1MP and useful camera functionality also on hand. The What Digital Camera Satio review checks it out

Large touchscreen, dedicated camera buttons

Slow focus, image noise in most situations

Though there is still room to improve the image quality, the Sony Ericsson Satio is a pleasure to use as a camera, and is no doubt one of the best cameraphones on the market.

Sony Ericsson Satio

Sony mobile phones tend to have a very distinctive, curvaceous, quality to them when it comes to design, and the Satio is no exception, in particular it bears a striking resemblance to the Sony Ericsson C905, which is certainly no bad thing as far as...

Sony Ericsson Satio Review

In the latter end of 2009 Sony Ericsson released the latest ‘flagship' phone which was shown to the world with much gusto and promise, helped by a fairly universal advertising campaign (the one with the brightly coloured space hoppers) and it certainly...

So as you can probably imagine I really liked this phone – it really did well and I’ve got only a couple of minor qualms which are overshadowed by the things that the phone excels at including a load of things I haven’t had space to mention (like the...

Sony Ericsson Satio

The Satio is a fairytale of a phone. Borne of Sony Ericsson's plan to merge its Cybershot and Walkman lines, what emerged is a conflicted device that is both beauty and beast.

Gorgeous design, brilliant screen, best-in-class camera, refined media capabilities

Inconsistent use of touch UI throughout device, terrible web browsing, a dated and clunky Symbian OS

Review: Sony Ericsson Satio. 12.1mp goodness

Very much a phone for photographers this one. A nHD TFT touch screen, 3.5 inches in diameter, with a 12.1MP camera with Xenon flash and 12x digital zoom. But does the rest of the phone deliver, or is really just a very high tech digital camera? Well it...
